This practice is nearly an hour away from me but I chose it initially because I believed they were a true animal hospital; I saw good reviews and they assured me that they would deal directly with my insurance company. I reiterated the point that I would not be in a place emotionally to deal with insurers if there was something terrible happening to my dog. I soon learnt that this assurance held no weight; the very first claim I’ve ever made exposed that to be untrue. The insurance company is telling me they are waiting from something from the vet; the vet says they’re waiting for the insurance company. The vet refuses to speak to the insurance company despite their assurances, although the insurance provider was happy to contact the vet on several occasions. There was a complete refusal on communication. I cannot begin to describe the stress this caused me. I never called and spoke to the same person twice and everyone I spoke to told me something different, from the receptionists to the insurance nurses. One minute I could do a direct claim if I signed a disclaimer, the next person I spoke to said I couldn’t. That was after receiving confirmation from the insurance nurse and the insurance company separately that this had been agreed. He won’t be having the op here. I have moved to a new vet who will deal with the insurance company and one who cares about my beloved family member. And the icing on the cake… We did two visits to this vet and one of those was charged at an out of hours rate because they kept us in the waiting room until passed the appointment time. Our appointment was arranged inside their standard working hours. It was later rectified but only because I noticed the charge and called several times for a refund. Update: I went with Bush House vets in Llandeilo in the end. They've been fantastic; no making very difficult situation even harder to deal with, they've supported me through the claims process, completed the operation, the insurance company has approved the claim and will be paying them directly. The new vet has removed all of the stress. It was a great decision to change vets.
Nice practice, nice staff all round, dog well cared for. Though I'm sure he'd say otherwise...
Stay well clear, hidden charges, gave insurance company different prices on multiple occasions, big practice buying up smaller ones and charging 50x on what treatment should be. After reading the last review and after going through our last experience, we will be reporting them and hope others do too before they swallow up smaller veterinary practices. Then after making it clear that I will settle and bills, they had the audacity to send my 8 month pregnant wife a letter stating " A relationship between us must be founded on trust and confidence something which it is clear you do not have." After myself not even receiving a phone call! Do one CVC, pathetic.
Had to go as an emergency on a sunday afternoon with our elderly dog. So very caring when the decision was made to say goodbye.
The nurse and bet were brilliant and very caring, unfortunately our little dog could not be saved. They were very caring and Professional.
We went to see if phoebe could be treated but it turned out her cancer had spread and it made treatment pointless, they treated us and phoebe with enormous compassion and made her passing so much easier....
Our much loved dog was put through 3 days of unnecessary suffering so these vets could make £3k. Spoke to many different vets over a 3 day period which didn't help matters and continually moved the goal post from what we originally told would happen and agreed to. Feel we were manipulated and professionally managed into maxing out our credit card and in short we were taken advantage of at our most vulnerable time.
My first visit to the nurse for our new puppy's check up. Becky the nurse was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We were given plenty of time to ask questions in an unhurried environment. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Becky. The veterinary hospital is modern and appears to be well equipped. There is a large customer waiting area with segregated areas for both dogs and cats. Customer parking is available directly outside and suitable for the disabled. My second visit was just as pleasant with the vet be helpful and caring. The consultation was relaxed and unhurried. Excellent, thank you.
Fantastic Vets, so very helpful and understanding. We took our cat Felix on Wednesday this week as he was attacked and had an extremely bad eye. The vets gave us some good advice and were very helpful in every way. Here he is resting and finally getting his appetite back
Fantastic service, we came here with our dog Charlie as a emergency ,staff are really friendly ,Charlie was treated by Sarah who was absolutely brilliant, we highly recommend Carmarthen veterinary centre.
