Absolute atrocity of a station. The staff are ill mannered and can’t even do their job. Trains never arrive on time or the the right platform and you are not informed of this via the useless talloy they have or the staff present. The toilets have been out of commission for months and they have expected you to use port a loos outside of the premises which have not been cleaned at all to my knowledge or if they have not very well at all. If your planning a journey to Carmarthen, DO NOT go via train
Two stars for the staff, who on most occasions are lovely and welcoming. Whoever is responsible for fixing the toilets at the station needs to be fired, I regularly travel through this station and the last couple of weeks the toilets have been out of order for no apparent reason. Usually there are trains you can go on but last time the train toilets were also out of order. The station is far away from other facilities so overall it makes for an incredibly unpleasant experience if you need the loo.nnNo cafe, waiting room lights were out last time, on par with when I had to stay late night at Wolverhampton train station a few years ago.
A nice basic station with great 'Transport for Wales' links. You can go all the way to Paddington Station direct from here as well as across many areas of West and South Wales.
Just visited the ticket office at Carmarthen Station where a lady named Jane dealt with my travel card enquiries immediately. Cheerful, very efficient and a hundred per cent better than the Internet service.nDiolch yn fawr.
Love Carmarthen, met a Ronnie in the Plume of Featherssmallest pub. Had a wonderful couple of hours, good music and good atmosphere.
