Disappointing experience after moving to Carlisle. Ordered bins and 2 months later still not arrived, telephoned to be told they were delivered, which is a lie. They missed bin collections for the recycling bins down the road twice, and they drove the bin lorry into the bin store and just drove off. Apparently recycling bins now out of stock because there is a world shortage of bins. Registered to vote and they used the wrong address, only found out because a neighbour dropped the letter round. The roads are full of potholes. People in the Council seem friendly but incompetent.
Over 200 a month in council tax and they can't collect your bin , ring up to be told it will have to wait 2 weeks till the next round! Absolutely disgusting
Absolutely the worst service you could imagine. Randomly stopped collecting our bin waste without notice and have now said they won't collect it for the foreseeable future because we are on a new build site. Paid for a green bin about 2 months ago but hasn't arrived - one person said they got lost finding out address although it's on Google maps and another said the bins aren't yet available due to supply issues - which one is it?! Lies and excuses for a terrible and lazy service. I don't know how they can justify collecting over £200 council tax from us each month and not provide us with any kind of service. Utterly disgraceful and embarrassing!
Carlisle city council is the civic Centre very helpful people they sorted me out when I needed help I have nothing against the council the good people are giving five stars every time I’ve been there always help me out I thank you for that thank you again
Ring up , and on hold for ages finally get to speak to someone and they hang up The council are just greedy and don't care about anyone
Having recently moved to Carlisle from Scotland I must say that I've been nothing but highly impressed with everyone I've had dealings with. From Council Tax to Wheelie Bins. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
Absolutely shocking contact service.Try to report online missed recycling for the second time in 6 weeks and the link didn't work. Tried to call and speak to someone and after 12 minutes on hold was cut off. A very poor service
You could live in far worse places. Yes we all have bad things to say about our local councils but considering the cuts to their budgets they aren’t doing a bad job. We should feel proud to live in our areas. as my mum always says “a place is only as good as the people living there”. Therefore I choose to feel proud about living in Carlisle.
These people have treated me with dignity and respect throughout the last 9 months which they have been helping me. Never have they been obstructive in any way, in fact they have bent over backwards to help me. I wish to thank these amazing people.
Lady in reception was lovely, helped me out with my new bins. New entrance and office space is much better.
