Great museum on the subject of local boy Captain James Cook, double circumnavigator and surveyor extraordinary. The cafe isn't bad either, and it all stands in the grounds of Stewart Park, acres of parkland and stands of mature trees. We'll worth a look.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Very interesting look at the life of teessides most historic figure. Would definately recommend a look round this. We really enjoyed it and makes you feel proud to come from the area.
A museum of captain cook, lots to see , lots to learn, plenty of places to walk , toilets , cafe, a nice place for a picnic in the grounds .
Great little museum dedicated to the explorer James Cook. The Exhibitions are from his voyages to Australia, the South Pacific and Canada. The exhibits also relate to his early life. The museum is situated in the scenic Stewarts Park. The entry cost is £4, but can work out cheaper if you buy a family pass. I

Excellent venue, great value for money. Primarily aimed as a great educational activity for children although adults will get a lot from it too
Had a nice mooch around the museum as daughter is learning about explorers at school. It may be small but it's great how it's not overwhelming. Some great costumes and models on display. Learned quite a lot myself The museum is reasonably priced too & is surrounded by a nice Park too.
Lovely relaxed and friendly with child friendly hands on things to do X
Museum is good. Very accessible and interesting for kids. Only about 40 minutes or so of entertainment but not expensive. Cafe is lovely set up but so disorganised. There are a lot of staff but it's all very hap hazard. I was served a panini that hadn't been toasted. Chairs and tables are all very very close together. Difficult to get through. Kids box meals are very pricey. Food was good however and staff friendly, just a bit clueless. There didn't seem to be any organisation. A sandwich and fries were served to our table, ten minutes before the children's box meals. Lots of new staff maybe.
