I had the avocado and poached eggs on toast. The portionsize was so small see photo. On top of this, the avocado was not seasoned with even the basics salt, pepper, lemon for £10 this is absurd! My friend had the Vegetarian Breakfast. Two poached eggs, bubble, two big mushrooms, tomatos and spinach. They enjoyed the meal and said the Bubble and squeak was very nice! The coffee was nice. The macchiato had a good amount of froth, but they were about £1 more expensive than they should have been. The staff were fine, but the music was too loud!
Reasonable English breakfast, was a bit dry, but nice location to watch the world go by. A bit over priced
We went for breakfast. We had to call the waitress over twice. We had one gluten free guest. The waitress said she could do gluten free options. Then came back after 5 mins and said she couldn't. The food was very small portions and didn't arrive altogether. £9.50 for avocado smeared on toast. One of the orders was wrong, the gluten free one! The pancakes were burnt and the scorched parts hidden. Altogether we received about 10% off our bill. Nice location though.
Do not go here. It looks good, with hints of a stylish canteen, but is just consistently bad. The service was slow, despite the place being half empty. The coffee was burnt, and the milk never arrived. The toast was damp and cold, the eggs mushy and also cold, and our omelette was covered in the sort of cheese that shouldn't cover anything. I'm not the type to complain, but this place is unpleasant and has no redeeming features.
I don't normally give low ratings, but I was genuinely underwhelmed by my experience here, especially given the location in the market. We were sat in a booth looking out into the market, which was nice to watch people go by, but the sofa was a bit broken and not too comfortable. We had the breakfast options, but very basic for the price. The staff were nice, just not a great atmosphere overall. It was around Sunday lunch time and so empty compared to some of the other places around.
I went there for high tea with my friend it was not worth it. How long does it take to make a sandwich? because it took about 45min to be served when no one was in there. The sandwich were also very bland. I will say the staff were very nice though. Wish the food was better.
Meh. I did not have a good breakfast at all - tiny portion, bitter coffee and very expensive for what i got poached egg and avo but my dining companions really enjoyed theirs and got much bigger portions and loved what they had eggs Ben which compounded my foodenvy rage!. Many better options in the locale I'd say.
We waited 45 minutes to find out our order wasn't coming and then when we approached the lady wearing pink glasses with swirls near lens she didn't even offer apology. We could've just walked out but we thought we'd be polite and told them we had to leave, in return she said 'That's ok' and made it feel like our fault. Terrible people skills and no food means we won't be going back.
Portions for breakfast always feel a bit meagre. We come here a lot for weekend family brunches anyway because the location is convenient, they always have space for us, and the service is good.
this seemed to be fast food english style. a full english breakfast is avaialbe here but i tried the smoked arbroath. a little heavy for me in the morning with the deep smoky flavor. service was fine and it is pretty spacious.
