This station has definitely had a major upgrade due to the Jubilee line extension in here. It’s a very important station to south Londoners as it connects the east London line to the jubilee going to places like Waterloo and Canary Wharf, so it gets really busy in rush hour. However it’s still an extremely nice station to appreciate with spacious platforms kept in good condition, platform edge doors on the jubilee platforms, and easy connection between that and the Overground!
Small yet practical tube station served by the Jubilee Line and London Overground, allowing seamless access to most of London. There is also a fairly active bus stop nearby. You can tell that the station has been refurbished and cleaned up, giving it a nice feel. The only downside is the hordes of homeless people at entrances
It's a nice looking Station, since it's fairly modern. However, there aren't enough seats on the Overground platforms, which means people often end up sitting on the floor or have to stand for up to 20 minutes waiting for their trains.
I love the Overground the trains are so comfortable and clean and it is a great transport system. These days TFL have to be commended for keeping the stations clean and tidy, well signposted with well trained staff who are keen to help. Proud of our transport system in London and the government needs to keep supporting it and ensuring stations are staffed at night and people feel safe.
Connects you everywhere in London. It’s on the Jubilee line. Lovely and well developed surrounding areas
Pretty standard jubilee line station, small lifts that can get crowded. Note the lift platforms to the jubilee and east London lines are on different floors
This spacious new station completed in 2010 with the massive above-ground “glass drum”above the escalators/stairwell flooding the interior with natural light. Obviously inspired and echoing the acclaimed Arnos Grove Station designed by Charles Holden in 1932. Cavernous Industrial interior; all naked concrete, steel, pipes and glass - 40 shades and textures of grey and then some. Clean, unadorned and effortlessly dehumanised. Inconceivably no public toilets here, only in the adjoining bus station.
Decent station with connections between underground overground and busses
Can get very busy, but a useful transport hub!
Four years ago this station was good - not over crowded in the mornings and service reliable. However it’s a different story now. It’s now massively overcrowded in the morning rush hour and the Jubilee line service suffers regular delays causing platforms to back up. If the overground also suffers a problem you’re stuffed as the buses are few and far between and the Surray quays one way system regularly clogged now they reduced the lanes. If you need a reliable work commute I’d consider other parts of London.
