Very good experience - made it even better by the outstanding quality price ratio. Small and intimate venue is majestically run by few cordial staff members. The close by parking make the trip to the restaurant smooth and pleasant. Wine list is small but well curated and allows for many “glass” options. Special kudos for the lamb. Most of the menu has strong French influence leveraging beautiful Irish products. Definitely a must if <100km away.
What can I say? This experience was one of a kind. The wine list was reasonably priced and they provided help when we asked what would pair with our meals. The homemade sourdough bread to start with warm butter was a great touch. Our lovely starters, lobster ravioli and rabbit gnocchi, were absolutely full of flavour and plated expertly. The flavours were perfectly complimented and it was one of the best starters I've had ever. For mains, we got fillet of beef and rump of lamb. Both cooked exactly how we asked and the sides were complimentary in terms of size and taste. Special shoutout to the mushroom oyster pie that came with the fillet of beef, absolutely spectacular. For desert, we had the chocolate mousse and raspberry souffle I asked for ice cream on the side. Both were warm and freshly prepared. The mousse was exquisite while the raspberry had sharp and fresh flavours. Overall, most definitely deserving of their Michelin star and I will be returning here again before the end of the year!
Nice, relaxed atmosphere in Campagna but the food was exceptional - in particular the lamb dish. Seemed like a busy service on a Thursday evening but that had no reflection on the quality coming from the kitchen. Highly recommended if you are in the area and fancy a little treat.Food: 5/5
Lovely atmosphere and nice tables, not too close each other so you can enjoy your meal. We had the lunch menu and everything was delicious, I loved the matching of the different ingredients and the attention to details.
What a wonderful experience we had tonight. Everything we had was superb. Beautifully cooked and elegantly presented plates. The service is spot on. I really loved the fit out. A great wine list and very fair prices. People of Kilkenny you are blessed.Food: 5/5
Simply put, the best meal I’ve ever had. The price, service and quality of food was outstanding. The restaurant has a cozy vibe that also can cater for larger groups. Would be worth going out of your way for a visit. Wish I could give 6 stars.
We dined here on Saturday 29th July. I regret to say that the experience was very disappointing. Starter of Foie Gras had the consistency of an instant delight & exceptionally bland. My fillet steak dinner was oversalted & left unfinished. Overall a €280 + dinner. After a mild complaint the bill was deducted by €17! We left a small tip for the waiting staff. An unhappy experience exacerbated by a mean 6% saving.
This Michellin-starred restaurant in Kilkenny provides a friendly professional welcome. The staff - front of house and waiting - are efficient and good humoured. The menu is brief and the food itself exceeds expectations. Kudos to this chef. Lobster bisque with a seafood ravioli - simple English words cannot convey the magnificence of this hunk of fishy pasta. Then hake -mwa!- on a seaweed butter sauce. With langustine lasagne which was maybe the highlight. Or fillet beef with dinkie little like-Mama-used-to-make carmelised onion pie. We shared a raspberry mousse which was fine with tart raspberry ice cream which was lovely. By-the-glass wine eye-wateringly expensive. Dinner for 2 with 1 glass of wine and one dessert e170. Not for nothing, but it was a special occasion, and it was well worth it.
From the bread to the wine, everything was delicious. My first Michelin experience and Hopefully not my last. I had the scallops, seabass and the best dessert Ive ever tasted, the chocolate mousse. Ive literally been daydreaming about the caramel sauce for days. My friends all enjoyed what they ordered the deconstructed beef pie and the the ravioli and they also said their souffle was the best , most luxurious dessert theyve ever eaten. Though out my budget usually,as a treat, this is 100% worth it. Highly recommend a visit if youre a foodie.
This was my first Michelin star experience, a treat from my wife during a visit to Kilkenny to mark my birthday. We came for the early bird menu, an exceptionally reasonably priced €45 per head the full a la carte being a still very good €75. It’s an experience I look forward to repeating! The staff were friendly, the restaurant open and unpretentious and the food was sublime. Make a point of coming here if you’re visiting the city.
