Went here for my birthday meal while staying in Llandudno as we fancied something out of ordinary. Checked they were still doing the exotic meals all sorts of things you won't see anywhere else! as it has just changed hands and they were, so I opted for the blind adventure meal where they cook something but don't tell you what it is until afterwards. It turned out to be ostrich which was very nice and my wife asked the waitress to surprise her and she got a stacked kangaroo and zebra burger meal which was also very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was very quiet which surprised me for a weekend evening. If you want a change from the usual stuff that all other restaurants do, you won't be disappointed with this place - we will definitely be returning!
Second visit last night. Friendly service from the Proprietor and her team. Opted for the blind tasting menu which was excellent. They do a signature cocktail/spritzer which is also well worth trying. Will be returning soon
You get to sample some unusual dishes like Kangaroo steak. Been told they are a healthier option compared with beef steak. So really worth trying. Very friendly and warm Service add to the pleasant experience. Need to pay a visit when ever around the area.
Had the triple blind 12oz burger was Ostrich, crocodile and zebra on a brioche bun. My wife had an ostrich steak. So much food even on a single course. Doggy bag had to be done! Friendly staff - nothing was too much for them. Informal atmosphere with good ambience
Staff and food are fantastic. My wife is a vegan they had loads of choice of food for her plus other dietary requirements. They are kid friendly. Definitely go again next time we're in the area.
Brilliant find. This restaurant changed hands in April 2013, so the negative reviews on here are simply wrong. This is no longer a café serving ping and plop, it had been completely renovated innovative decent and stylish restaurant. Fantastic Welsh African restaurant serving freshly made food, and proper Welsh meat. Try the crocodile! 5 stars
Went for my 40th thinking it'd be something different....was different alright, as we sat down another 2 groups came in all larger than our table of three and all got served drinks before us, the waitress then took my sons menu away for the table next to ours saying he wouldn't need it although he did need it! I got a chicken wrapped in bacon with what was a tiny bit of sauce which barely lasted a few mouthfulls of chicken and a pot of vegetables to go with my dressed salad??? When i mentioned it to the head waitress she said 'the salads a garnish' and rudely walked off! We got offered some free puddings but after the sub standard food we politely declined and made a hasty retreat from the terrible decor and bouncy floor
If you didn't know it was there you might have missed it, as you walk up the stairs you are welcomed by the friendly staff. The restaurant is on the first floor and overlooks Mostyn St. The food was gorgeous and very reasonably priced. The food is cooked fresh and a lot comes from local produce. I would reccomend anybody to visit and have a meal. I am defiantly going to go again.
Having visited a few times this is joining our short list of preferred restaurants in Llandudno. We've had so much fun reading the replies to the negative reviews they've had that I'm tempted to go for one star and a whinge but that wouldn't be fair but really. Don't people realise when they leave a bad review that lots of the readers will realise that they are reviewing themselves as well? And often they don't come out well. We were in Llandudno for the weekend but Julie's train from Birmingham didn't get in until after 9 p.m. She'd phoned to check the closing time and was told to come along anyway as they were busy so might be open 'til late. We arrived at about 9:20, were seated almost immediately and enjoyed starters a delicious paté and tasty Glamorgan Sausage followed by a splendid lamb shank and kangaroo Rogan Josh. There was a good selection of local beers for me and Julie coped with a half carafe of house red. We were last out but didn't feel pressure to leave so really I've got nothing to moan about and I'll have to deal with not having an amusing response. Anyway, I dare say we'll be back.
Excellent food. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Great view from the window. Music and lighting makes it a lovley place for both couples and parties. 5/5 would seriously recommend
