Ordered mini fish and chips. No problem with the fish, the chips however were the worst chips I’ve ever experienced. Soggy, greasy and brown. I had to chuck them in the bin.
Went there today at 12.35 pm,asked for a fresh fish lightly battered of which a guy before me had asked to put a fresh large cod in for him aswell. I had noticed there was two fish already in the top warmer.as we both went to the shop nextdoor for a paper expecting to wait about 10 minutes at a usual rate of time for a fresh cooked fish as some as i come from the newsagent next door i had a shout that it was ready.so he had put the two fish in that was there earlier to cook for an extra minute that was just like eating pork scratchings this is the 1st review ive ever wrote it was just that bad please just dont go there
Great chip shop with proper curry sauce freshly cooked food. And excellent staff very friendly.
WHERE IS THE MEAT! I go to this chip shop every week for the same meal. Chicken kebab meat and chips with salad. It costs me £5 for a tray. There is always a good amount of kebab meat in my tray. I took my tray home today and sat down only to find there was two pieces of meat in my meal and they were the tiniest slivers. Whatup with that I thought. She must have been distracted! I rang them up told them and proceeded back to the shop at their request to get a suitable serving. I’ve just come home and opened up the tray to find only the slightest bit more than I received previously. I rang up and spoke to the same woman whom I presume is the owner. She gave 3 different excuses. Firstly ‘it’s the size and cut of the meat they’ve given us.’ Secondly ‘they’ve given us the leg so it’s smaller pieces.’ I said if you know that then shouldn’t you compensate by ensuring there is still enough meat cut for the serving! Thirdly she said ‘it’s down to what’s going on with inflation, you should have seen that on the news!’ I said £5 for chips, salad and a sliver of chicken pieces is ridiculous. She said ‘I can only tell you how it is!’ I said and yes I don’t have to like it and I won’t be coming back! Day light robbery! Is this how it is now, we’re going to get ripped off by shop-owners as well as the government! Be warned. I would actually give this chip shop no stars and a miss because she knew she was ripping me off having tried to do it earlier!
Always a pleasure to see smiley faces behind the counter, very clean, tidy and freshly cooked food. Known the owners for over 30 years abd have never failed me . Well done
Food is sooo good best in the area and I've tried alot lol. Staff are lovely too! Def our go to on a Saturday nite
