I had to visit the A & E dept in C.G Hospital Wick on Sat 4/3/23. at 9pm with an urgent health problem . i live 40 miles away. Rather than phone 999. i tried the 111 number for 40 minutes no reply.. wife phone Wick C G phone was pick up within 2 rings, was told have your husband taking up we will see him .We did just that and what a great service i got. two nurses spoke with me so kind they were.and helpful. Then a Doctor treated me Lewis i think was his name, he was first class i every way. Big Big thanks to them three. WELL DONE C/G A & E dept Wick
Seems they dont want 2 help tourists in need of a doctor and antibiotics- found a doctor later the next day, but missed 18hrs of antibiotics therapy... In Austria any tourist or local would have been attended to in hospital
I will always hold this hospital in high regards, as they saved my life more than once. I have infusion every 6 weeks since about 6 years, I have also been going there regular for over 30 years. Medical team are friendly and good.. Only problem is the area of the hospital it should have more Drs, Specialists, nurses for this area.
My husband, John Docherty , was treated in the Day Care Unit today 23 rd August, and would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for their wonderful care. If anyone reading this has reservations about going to Wick for treatment, my advice would be do not hesitate.all the staff were kind, friendly ,and very professional.
On Thursday 01/07/21 my wife who had fallen was seen by the staff of A&E on duty that evening. I would like to publicly praise the staff and in particular the Doctor who attended to my wife, her x-ray identified a facture of the neck of the femur. My wife was transferred to Raigmore the next day and underwent successful surgery on the Saturday. The Doctor who I would to thank kept me advised through out the investigative procedure that Thursday evening/night, the distinctive sound of his clogs announced his arrival to give updates.Thankyou Caithness General.
Ok so the place could do with a bit more room and a few quid spent on maintenance, but the staff and quality of service is exceptional. Some hospitals don’t even have staff that have the time to talk to you about things and reassure you, CGH does have staff that do that and they deserve much gratitude and thanks. So “thank you to all the staff who looked after me today”, fantastic place and we should all support efforts to keep the CGH and fight for improvements. Kenny McAulay
Unexpected visit but wow what a fantastic hospital everyone made me so comfortable and made me feel at ease for my opp . Would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the nurses and doctors brilliant job thank you xx
Was on holiday in the area and had a fall. The staff were fabulous and looked after me really well.
A very long waiting time of almost 2hrs in the emergency even though there was just 4 patients waiting.
First visit but very pleased with the help. Staff nurses and other could not be nicer and more understanding.
