Friendly and well situated with a lovely ethos. Great cake. Nice cross section of people from young to old. If you need to chat, you can signal that with a blue pebble. Not wonderfully vegan-friendly, but the positives make up for that.
Great cafe on the harbour at Thurso. Very friendly staff and customers. Great bacon bap and coffee. It’s a community run cafe and donations welcome for the food and coffee. Amazing. This place will be a godsend in the current crisis.
Lovely friendly atmosphere. Fantastic community project. Credit to all involved, especially the volunteers running the joint. If you’re passing by, stop in and support. I’ll be back.
Very child friendly with a good selection of toys to keep toddlers occupied while drinking. Interior decour is amazing, creating a lovely relaxed ambiance, and the baby changing facities / toilets were excellent given it's size. We only had time for coffee and cake but both were delicious and I would definitely consider coming back for lunch if ever in the area again.
We dropped in for lunch after a visit to the nearby fishmonger. "Community" café means that you can pay what you wish and proceeds go to help finance the various support groups that meet in the venue. So it seems a little unfair to review the quality of the food as one would a conventional restaurant. I would say it is adequate. The staff are, I assume, volunteers and friendly. You feel it's a place that's open and welcoming to all kinds of people and you want to be generous in giving.
What an asset to Thurso! Located next to the river, there is seating inside and outside. The cafe, run by volunteers, serves excellent light bites, cakes and drinks. Having said that, my husband had the 'light breakfast', which we thought was actually plenty, even for his healthy appetite! My friend and I both had toasted sandwiches, which were served with a garnish and very tasty. Highly recommended!
Amazing customer service, delicious food, clean and comforting cafe would highly recommend! And it's all a charity cafe you pay what you want! Wish I still stayed up here I would definitely volunteer! Keep it up guys!
Great community cafe, good range of food on the menu. Great service by the volunteers who man the cafe. All this for as little or as much you want to pay for your food. The lady from Cote D'Ivoire was brilliant gave us good service with a bit of fun. Thanks.
had some amazing chocolate cake and a perfect cup of tea. the people volunteering were so kind and fun!! highly recommend this wonderful place!!!
What a fabulous place. Great idea, great location and the food was delicious. Thank you for your warm welcome would highly recommend but check opening times as not open every day.
