I popped in just for a café au lait and a slice of red velvet cake what I had two years ago but it appeared they didn't have any of these things. In the end I settled for a latte and a slice of tarte au citron, which were both really nice. My only complaint is that the price is a bit steep for what they are. The waitress was really nice in helping me choose and the atmosphere was equally great, with smooth songs gracing our ears.
On Deliveroo they show up as "Stack + Grill". Food was an absolute joke. you get more filling in a £3 meal deal from Tesco. Do NOT waste your money here! I have pictures here which show the fillings of our "stacks" which are absolutely unacceptable. I expect to receive a full portion of salmon for £9, not a sprinkle. I expected a stuffed full mushroom stack with goats cheese throughout, not three quarters of a mushroom and 2 small pieces of goats cheese. Honestly my first bad Deliveroo experience and I hope my last!
Overpriced and the quality of food is not wow. The breakfast is worse. They took like 1 hr to serve while the place is empty and brought bad taste food. Spinach was yellow and everything was cold. Very bad service and food
Afternoon tea. Not a great choice. Only two sandwich fillings offered, and we both had to have the same one, couldn't have one each of the two types. Four slices of cake, two each, not bad, but not the best. Pots of tea served before food, so was going cold by the time we had finished eating, and not offered a top up after eating. Overpriced at £25.
Went in for lunch using voucher. Staff polite food was very nice. Wasn't made to feel rushed to leave.
As always, very nice food, excellent service and wasn't rushed.
Very disappointing, considering this is not the first visit of ours to this usually very good restaurant. Service was very slow, but ultimately friendly when we it arrived to take our order. Portion size was terrible, very small. My partner ordered mussels and when her food arrived, there were 10 in the dish we counted. She was starving after eating her main, and it only came with a small portion of fries on the side. Again, service did not remove our empty plates for an unacceptable time. We paid the bill, left no tip and went to a different restaurant for dessert. This would have been a one star review but we have been before and it's been excellent, so do still consider it. It hasn't put us off, but we won't order mussels again.
Delicious food once it came, a good 45 min wait and it wasn't that busy, kids meals came 10 min before adults. Good value on the kids meal deal and good portion size. A little small on the adults portion for the price. Added a opt service charge on the bill which i failed to notice so made it even more expensive.
Food was expensive for what it was. Pretty average really. It was the hottest day of the year, 33 degrees and the air conditioning had broken some weeks before so we were told by a member of the waiting team. It was like a furnace in the cafe so we didn't have a dessert, just needed to get out fast. As did a few other customers that we saw leaving. The poor girls serving were about to drop with heat exhaustion, but they were still very friendly and efficient, especially Lauren. All credit due to her in such awful conditions. Again, as in many large businesses, it would appear money over staff welfare!!!!! Cafe Rouge, you should be ashamed that you expect your staff to work in such awful circumstances. Would we go back, probably not, as this was not the first time the food was not up to scratch.
Went for a meal today that was a Christmas treat all pretty good. Told as we arrived some dishes not available but still a good selection. Lady my party in wheelchair had plenty of room.All very well presented& plenty of time allowed which was great to have time to chat.Also had a money off voucher which was great we will return.Thanks to all friendly& helpful staff Mel lemon& family
