Very nice restaurant with friendly service and authentic food. I would be very happy to return.
So me and my family 5pax was trying to find halal restaurant nearby the Buckingham palace, and google recommend us this place. Not that hard to find. All of us went there and had a seat each, with a table and space to park our buggies at the back. The waiter quite friendly gave us the menu and we went through it. Being a tourist from a 3rd world country, we're quite particular on the price. We then thought that it was quite pricey for us and since we're on quite a tight budget, we decided not to eat there. But thinking that we don't want to upset the waiter who had already treat us nicely, we didn't walk out yet and ordered 2 drinks mango and orange juice and we told him nicely that we are not ordering food. He then went to prepare our drinks. Then a waitress came over, with an unfriendly face, asking us what we wanted to eat. We told her we are just drinking and she just went ahead to collect all the plates and cutleries on our table with a dissatisfied face and went to the front. Anyway, while waiting for the drinks, my father in law asked if they have free wifi internet, and the waiter gave my father in law a card with the WiFi password written on it. He then tried to login but failed so many times, in which i assume that the password written on the card is wrong or we couldn't really get what they wrote on it yeah the handwriting is a bit weird. But my father in law didn't really mind about it because 2 of us do have a local number with mobile data and we're doing hotspot. About 5 minutes after odering, our drinks came, and yes they we're tasty. And when our drinks reach about half-empty, another lady which we think is the owner of the restaurant, came with the bill and told us this exact words - "excuse me, you have to pay now and leave. This is a restaurant and if you're not eating then you need to leave" We were shocked! What happened? But not wanting to make a scene there, we paid and left without saying a words. And so, i made a few assumption of why this happened 1 maybe they think that we're just finding a place to shelter from the really hot weather 2 maybe they think that we're just trying to find free internet 3 maybe they're a racist Lebanese/Arabs we're asian muslim 4 maybe a combination of all the above And to be honest, i didn't even bother to leave a review at first, after what happened. i just gave a 1 star rating on google when i left the place. But today, i received an email from them, written as below : ASSALAMO ALAYKOM. DEAR MR KAMAL . OUR PROPHET MOHAMMAD ALAYHE ASSALATDID NOT TEACH US TO HARM OTHER PEOPLE IN ANYWAY EVEN IF YOU HARMED FROM OTHERS. THATS OUR PROPHET SO IF YOU ARE BELONG TO OUR PROPHET MOHAMMAD AND BELIEVE IN HIM YOU HAVE TO DELETE THIS BAD REVIEW. THANK YOU ASSALAMO ALAYKOM YOUR BROTHER ABDUL WAHAB ________________________________ The fact that they are using our prophet Mohammad S.A.W name, really piss me off. If they are such a great follower of him, they shouldn't have treat a customer whom share the same religious beliefs, in such a disrespectful way. It's not like we're stealing anything from the restaurant. We bought something ffs! Even if it is the restaurant policy, they can at least try to explain it politely and in a good manner. Is it because we're asian, even though we're muslim? Do we look like a poor immigrants to you? Don't boast and feel you're special just because you're a permanent residence in the UK. Don't forget where you came from.
A very pleasant surprise as we didn't expect much when we first looked at it. From outside it doesnt look like much and the place is tired and in need of an overhaul. But the food was absolutely great. We tried 7 mezze, I'm not sure we got exactly what we ordered, but it was delicious and my only complaint would be that I over ate because of it. Very speedy service as well, considering the owner was doing everything by himself that day. Bonus points for managing to make my son happy with the food as he can be really picky.
Amazing food with great service. I left feeling so full up I could hardly move but still wanting to eat more! The homemade dips were the best I've ever eaten, the meat was perfectly cooked, tender and well seasoned, fresh salad and great accompaniments. I really enjoyed the garlic sauce and the owner was happy to tell me how it was made so I can enjoy it at home. I'm not local so I won't be going again in the near future but next time I'm in the area I won't be trying anywhere else. Highly recommended.
Lovely food and kind owner. Would return again when in area. The reason why I did not give it a 5 is because I would expect sides such as rice or chips to be part of the meal for the price paid. Instead it had to be ordered separately.
Authentic food and owner personally tended.
Extremely friendly home made healthy eating ! Amazing Lebanese restaurant. First time my mum and i experienced a mini cake with a date inside, very nice and highly recommend. The mini cakes are scrumptiously tasty and just right sweet. Had the mixed grilled that is great for sharing. Healthy portion of salad with two types of saucescool and spicy to increase your tasting experience. A nice variety of food for everyone. Will definitely come back again.
I am half Jordanian and in fact just returned from 3 weeks in Lebanon. The food here is really substandard. The basics like the houmous were tasteless. The manakeesh was too oily and we had to send back the first attempt as it was so burnt. The meat was tasty but I agree it is probably not as fresh as it could be. This I restaurant is not reflective of one of the best cuisines in the world and anyone who has experienced good Lebanese food will be disappointed. Service was kind and fairly quick.
So we’re looking for somewhere to eat after our son did the Royal Parks Half marathon. We wander through the streets around Victoria in the rain....every sweaty pub and anodyne chain restaurant packed to the gunnels. We’re about to give up and just go back to Brighton when we spot an empty Lebanese restaurant what’s wrong with this place??, and decide to give it a go as we’re all tired and hungry. What we found was the most perfect little place. Great food, lovely people. We enjoyed it so much, I just had to write this. It’s just so heartening to know that London still has places left like this- as opposed to the soulless glass and chrome identical ‘cookie-cutter’ rubbish everywhere. Added to this, the bill was half what we paid when we last went to London- and the food was vastly superior and delicious. I can’t recommend Cafe Nouf highly enough- but don’t tell everyone or it’ll become too popular!
This place is a really cute Lebanese cafe tucked away on one of the side streets in Victoria, near the train station. The ambience is cozy and nice, and I believe that the owner served us himself. Four of us decided to forego typical entrees en lieu of several appetizers for lunch, and we weren't disappointed! Everything was delicious, and we especially loved the lamb and warm hummus dish. The owner was extremely nice and kept our glasses full of ice cold water, then even gave us a complementary plate of desserts at the end of the meal. He was kind and funny and gave us excellent service. Definitely have starred this place to come back when I'm in the Victoria area again!
