Checked out Cafe East Pho near Blackheath station after seeing the positive reviews.nThe summer rolls were fresh, but the dipping sauce leaned a bit too sweet and missed the classic peanut punch.nOur crispy chicken main was tasty as well. Friendly service and no service charge were a plus. Overall, a solid option if you're in the area.
Such a cute spot! We loved everything about this place. The food is amazing, the place is clean/beautiful, and the staff are lovely. I would definitely recommend. We will be back for sure.
It appears that the old Vietnamese restaurant has closed and relocated to a new spot. Although the new place has a different decor, it lacks the familiar charm of the old establishment, which felt more like a cozy home rather than a modern cafe.nnOne positive change is the addition of a new dish to the menu, and the food still retains its delicious taste. However, I must mention that the portions seem to be smaller than before, especially for the drinks.nnIn the past, the old cafe's large portions of vegetables were one of the main attractions for me, but now they are served in smaller quantities, which makes them less appealing.
+ The staffs were nice.n+ The restaurant was kept clean.n+ Very clean toiletn+ Portions were suitable for the prices.nnWe ordered Pho Tai Chin, Bun Bo Hue, Com Suon, Cha Gio, and Vietnamese Coffee.nnPho Tai Chin: 5/10 nothing special about it. The beef was good, and the thin cut helps the meat absorb the flavor. The broth was bland.nnBun Bo Hue: 1/10 it was totally inauthentic flavor. I was so disappointed. Having to force myself to eat it. It's totally not the Bun Bo Hue flavor! Not recommend it.nnCom Suon: 7/10 the flavor of the meat wasn't a wow. However, it was edible. Rice was well cooked. Not too wet not to dry.nnCha Gio: 8/10 This is the only thing that we like so far in this place. Would recommend.nnVietnamese coffee: it was as strong as we expected. I find it too sweet for me.nnWould we come back here for Authentic Vietnamese Food?nDefinitely not.
Loved our visit to Cafe East! Food is delicious and great value. Staff are quick and super friendly! Perfect for a quick lunch.nnWould love a few more vegetarian options on the menu, otherwise everything was perfect. We’ll be back soon!
