Extensive menu and fresh ingredients. Venue has a lot of indoor seating and a couple of tables outside. Food prices are quite expensive though and gentleman taking orders is very impatient - if you tell a customer you have run out of an ingredient, at least give them a chance to trawl through the blackboards for an alternative especially if they have a food allergy instead of tapping on the counter.
On our wanderings again and found ourselves in Hertford. Exploring the town, hunger started to surface. I remember passing a couple eating a delicious breakfast outside a café. Retracing our steps we found this wonder; Bebo Café! The food was excellent, I had a Chicken Club and Jo had a Salad Nicoise. To follow we had coffees with a delicious pistachio cannoli again, apologies for taking a bite out of it - mmmm. The café is on three floors, so plenty of comfy seats. Definitely a re-visit when next in the area. Go there!
Nice place with good seating. Ordered a bagel for a decent price. Took a little time to come but was tasty and service was great.
Nice looking place I stopped at recently on a cycle ride. Its in a good central location in Hertford Service speedy and food was tasty. I even had a vegetarian sausage roll, recommended by the staff, even though I'm not vegetarian. It was as good as the staff suggested. Coffee was decent and staff coped well with our group of 10 riders.
What a disappointment! It’s so unfortunate that the service and food let the place down. The building is beautiful, don’t get me wrong, it has the potential to be one of the best cafes in Hertford. Unfortunately it always disappoints us, whether just a coffee, breakfast or lunch. The ambiance is great! I love the interior and it’s very comfortable inside. The tables tend to be sticky inside, perhaps invest in some proper table cleaners which won’t make your tables sticky. The food is amazingly priced but unfortunately the quality is poor. I had the vegan breakfast “mushrooms on sourdough toast, grilled tomatoes, pot of houmus” what I got were four slices of white toast, the cheapest kind; a dollop of flavourless houmus, a quarter avocado, two halves grilled tomato and a tablespoon of wrinkly miniature mushrooms basically blackened. Not to mention that we waited 30 minutes when the kitchen looked pleasantly well staffed. This was 10am. I hope Bebo Cafe will be able to step up their game, it only requires good management and a bit of effort.
We came here for a drink and a piece of cake towards closing about 30 minutes before. Serving staff were friendly, but a frosty manager was buzzing around. We sat upstairs and were enjoying a chat, when manager came to tell us we needed to leave, as they were closing and he made the point that we had been told when purchasing food and drinks, we hadn't. I wouldn't have minded being told in a less abrasive verging on aggressive manner. I don't get actual poor service often, but I won't be visiting here again, and I will not be recommending to others.
Excellent coffee shop in Central Hertford that serves the most delicious sandwiches/wraps and toasties! You will not leave hungry and all the staff always seem to be smiling. Highly recommend popping in for lunch, they also do takeaway Vegetarian options: Huge selection of vegetarian friendly options, plus they are really accommodating if you want to make your own choices of fillings.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS Literally the worst place to eat in Hertford. You would have a better culinary experience going through the bins outside Veysos for your lunch. The staff are useful as a chocolate teapot.. they constantly get orders wrong. Their ability to actually make an edible sandwich is nil. The chicken is was ripped up by hand and chucked in a wrap it was horrendous. The place should just close.
I knew this place wasn't going to be good when I asked for a flat white and they replied with what size, it only comes in size. Took too long to take our order and even longer for the food to get to us. Sausages we're either the day befores left overs that were reheated or they were frozen. There's a lot if new businesses opening in hertford that are selling great coffee and food so fingers crossed that things get better in bebo's as they're in a great location to be successful
Did not eat, just went in for a chai latte, which was really nice. Friendly staff, plenty of seating available and the food looked good, several people were eating whilst I was there. Town centre location. Clean toiletService: 5/5
