Cafe 51 has a great breakfast menu - and an apparently great daytime menu, although I didn’t try that. The breakfast however was second to none, and even better, the place was open at an early hour at the beginning of my cycling day. Tasty wholesome food, and at a reasonable price. Thoroughly recommended.
Nice staff, especially the younger members of staff, menu is good with plenty of choice - it's not just filled up with your usual it was pretty busy when we went and I think that they were just about coping. I'd eaten my food by the time my milkshake arrived and my daughter's food arrived. That said the food was good and the staff stayed pleasant. I would go back, but maybe when it was a little quieter.
I hate leaving reviews like this, but I’m afraid the food was very poor and overpriced. I asked for poached EGGS on toast with a side of avocado. I was give slightly bruised avocado on toast with one poached egg on the side. The gluten-free toast was burnt and I got the end crust of the loaf. I got charged £9 for this meal. The lady who gave us the bill was friendly and the drinks were ok. That’s about the only positives. Won’t use them again.
Stumbled across this little cafe. We were a little hesitant as the menu was a little quirky for a small cafe, which is cool. I chose the Shakshouka, which I'd never heard of, or had tried before, so in for a penny, I bloody loved it! And all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended Food: 5/5
Had a lovely meal at the Thai curry night on Tuesday. Their food is always so fresh and there’s always a veggie/vegan option too. I’ve had a few meals with you now as I’m a local person and your food never disappoints.
Our first visit and it won't be the last. The food was wonderful. The price fair, intact very reasonable. The service was good chatty lady which was nice. Very clean also nice. The menu was good and had lots of choice. Thanks for a lovely lunch. Vegetarian options: Lots of them and well explained.
Excellent Sunday lunch with Cafe 51, I believe this was their first attempt at Sunday lunch and I can honestly say I could not fault the food or service. I had Chicken liver pâté for starters followed by a lamb roast dinner, you can normally judge a roast dinner by its roast potatoes and they tasted like home cooked. Very impressed and would highly recommend
We have just spent a week near Southwold and visited this cafe almost every day. The food and service was excellent and they were very friendly and helpful and very welcoming to Max our dog. I would recommend anyone to try this cafe especially dog.
Lovely place for coffee- had take out. Staff friendly helpful, fun and wish we had eaten here today. Menu looked fabulous, place immaculate
Loved the look of the place and the breakfast was OK however the portion size was just tiny for me, good coffee though and lovely courtyard. Wouldn't go back or recommend though I am afraid.
