Our daughter attended the group lessons here for a few months. These were for 30 mins but usually 4 to 6 would be in the group so actual tuition time would be for 5 mins max. There seemed to be a lot of random people turning up each week perhaps for a one off or gift. We received no feedback from the girl who took the group lessons at any point during the 3-4 months we attended, but we knew our daughter wasn’t progressing in this group environment, so we decided to move to another riding centre who offer 121 tuition. We also found it very difficult dealing with the onsite shop and almost felt a hindrance so we took our money elsewhere to a more helpful shop. They have a good selection of ponies and many of the kids that help out are very nice but sadly our experience wasn’t the best
Paid for 3 half hour lessons voucher, called over a month before expiry a few times and couldn't get through. Called 3 times over a few days after expiry and eventually got through to be told its expired there's nothing you can do. I have since sent an email to request either more time to use voucher or pay a supplement to extend the voucher, again no reply. Customer service is a shambles you should have some sort of booking system in place before you start charging people to give lessons when you can be bothered answering the phone. Had you answered over a month before expiry my partner could have been able to use the voucher. I do not like leaving negative reviews but the silence and dead ends has just annoyed me, as well as the tone of the person on the phone my partner spoke to.
My daughter is a complete novice, on the lead rein and had her first, and for my sins second, lesson here. During the first lesson both myself and my mum, with many years of horse riding between us, were not very comfortable with what we saw. In the space of half an hour we saw the older children in the lesson who for the most part were not being led but perhaps should have been * allowed to ride in trainers with no heel * stirrups very much wrong length with no correction which didn't help the next point * not being taught or corrected on their position which meant they were unbalanced, therefore banging about on their ponies backs and chucking their teeth as they tried to balance using the reins again we saw no correction from the instructor * the same children were allowed to attempt canter which, in my opinion should never happen until they can confidently and safely for both them and the pony walk and trot. * children were being shouted at rather than encouraged Additionally, coming back from a short walk outside on the second lesson, I overheard the child leading my daughter couldn't help it, she was shouting it back to one of her friends say "how random a name is [insert my daughter's pretty normal name] anyway." Not what you want to your 4 year old to be hearing. We had given it a second chance to make sure it wasn't just us or a one off but I wish I hadn't. It's a shame as it's local to us and has always seemed to have a good name but sadly, in our experience that was not the case. We've moved yards and are much happier that she is being taught the very basics by someone friendly and encouraging - even the kids at the new yard are great - polite, helpful and that clearly comes top down.
I'd love to give Scarlet and Alison a 5 star review because they are both excellent instructors but the booking system here is an absolute shambles! If you're not a regular weekly client, trying to book a lesson is so hard. They're either not at the diary or no booking staff are available or it's the answering machine and a call back is promised but rarely happens. I called on Friday 7th trying to book for 17th or 18th but the phone lines were down and I was told I'd get a call back. I phoned again on Monday 10th and again was told I was on the list for a call back. It's now Monday 17th and I'm still waiting for my call back, having left another message on the answering machine. This isn't the 1st time that calls have not been returned and I am not happy. If you're going to sell private lesson vouchers to new clients, you need to be able to accommodate them. My daughter wasn't told that weekends are only for group lessons when she bought the vouchers and you basically need a cancellation to ride during the week. I'm now at the stage where I want my vouchers refunded and I'll go elsewhere. It's so annoying because the 3 lessons I have managed to get, 2 with Scarlet and 1 with Alison were fantastic.
Friendly and approachable staff. My daughter loves the horse riding lessons here. Instructor is patient and courteous while also very encouraging
The lady was quite rude to both me and my daughter who they spoke to quite sternly when fitting her hat. I don’t think we will come back. It also feels quite expensive.
Highly recommend this riding center. Instructors are so attentive, highly trained and all the staff are so friendly. Robert is amazing with the kids and my daughter loves it. The shop is a treasure trove of everything you could possibly ever need.
Excellent riding school! I currently ride in Roundknowe farm, but I will be back in next week! I miss Dublin and Sligo so much.
This is the absolute best ridding school in Glasgow I love it so much I’ve never seen a malnourished horse there this place is absolutely amazing the horses are so healthy and they make you sign a Weaver which is so professional I would never go to any other ridding place that wouldn’t make you sign a weaver also for the people saying ‘’it’s quite, to expensive’’ just think about it there horses and it’s very expensive to keep also the tack are about £275 or even more so yes they do charge more for lessons it’s not cheep
Called four times to get my legitimate refund and they still haven't called me back. The instructor isn't so informative or caring for newcomers either. More explanations on "how" to navigate would be helpful.
