Hidden gem. Basic but comfortable lodges with hot tubs set in a lovely forest in the middle of nowhere. It's a great place to spend a few nights away from everything, with great hot tubs and cooking facilities in the cabins. Location gives it its charm but please be warned that it is a pain to get to along tiny country lanes. Nice walks around the forest and fishing on the lake. Cabins are also reasonably priced in off-season.
Beautiful quiet location. We booked a few lodges and they were all very clean and comfortable. They were warm and large inside. The area is great to relax and go for walks. The hot tub was great, clean and always warm. Just a short car journey to town if you need supplies but feels nice and remote. Wifi is ok can cut out a lot and there is no phone signal - but thats part of the experience.
Stayed in Sycamore Lodge in August 2022. Amazing lodge set in woods. Great fishing lakes and super dog walks. WiFi is excellent. Cannot fault anything. Staff are brilliant and cannot do enough for you. Highly recommend!Rooms: 5/5
We booked this lodge as we like to be in nature away from noise and roads. This didn't disappoint, as remote as you can get, we loved it. The hot tub was wonderful, clean, large and lovely and warm on these autumn days and nights. Lodge was clean and tidy and the kitchen had everything we needed, including dishwasher, oven, fridge and microwave. The only downside for us was that the sofa and armchair were not that comfortable and we found we could not sit for too long. Lovely walks around the Lodges and if you're into it, there are ponds for fishing. We did try locating rh Lodges using satnav and that wasn't much help, however Google maps was spot on and got us there each time.
Coming from rural Dorset, my partner and myself wanted a break away, well Bulworthy forest lodges did not disappoint, we had a lovely stay, perfect environment, very clean and tidy, not to mention the added addition of the hot tub which is always a bonus for the ultimate relaxation, we have already booked for next year and for longer, we can’t wait to come back.
What an amazing hidden gem tucked away in a stunning location in Devon. We will 100% be coming back. We stayed in Foxglove and it was the ideal space for 4 adults and 2 children. The hot tub was added perfection with beautiful woodland views and don’t forget to look up at night as the skies there are so clear being far from any cities and light pollution. The lake was clear of weed and perfect to teach our 2 children how to fish with plenty to catch. The lodge itself was ideal, a home from home. The only recommendation we have is maybe to add a hook outside by the hot tub for hanging robes and towels. The only other tiny nag would be the main bathroom shower in fox glove - the pressure wasn’t great but other than that they really have thought of everything here. Don’t forget to visit the tyre swing and bluebell woods behind the lodge - some lovely walks and beautiful family photo opportunities here. A member of staff greeted us as we arrived and the lady who runs the place was so friendly chatting when she was checking our hot tub levels one morning. Thanks for giving us such a lovely place to stay - we will be back next year : Sophie & Matt x
Wow, what a treat this place is. I'm currently here for the May bank holiday weekend with a friend. We're staying in Sycamore with our dogs. We have a hot tub that we must have been in for about 5 hours yesterday evening. We're going for a walk and a bike ride later. All the basics provided in the comfortable cabin. Not overlooked by other cabins. The view from the porch is just fantastic, feels like you're in the middle of the woods. I'm already looking to rebook for another time.
One of our favourite places to stay. Great accommodation and lovely to be away from it all in secluded woods but not too far a drive from lots of places of interest. Jacuzzi is an added bonus!Rooms: 5/5
Lovely views, generally a good stay, a bit dated though, oven was a bit of a nightmare to use, all heat marks gone due to age. Sadly, the Wifi is really shocking, dipping in and out, as I needed to do business whilst away, a good internet signal is a must for me.Rooms: 3/5
This is now our second visit and stay at Bulworthy Forest Lodges and I definitely would recommend the opportunity to stay. I came with my family 2 years ago for a rest and time away from work. It was such a success that we have just revisited and stayed again. The Forest and Lodges are a special place to stay - so quite and secluded with no street lights, you will only hear the running water of the stream, wild life in the trees and your family chatting and laughing in the hot tube. The lodges are warm, clean, well equipped and spacious but only 15min from the local town and beaches, so plenty to do. We cant recommend the Forest Lodges highly enough, you wont be disappointed.
