Spent two nights at Bryn Howel this month for a family wedding. The Hotel has been refurbished with some bedrooms still to be updated but we really loved our bedroom. Wonderful location beside the canal with fabulous walks and gardens to explore. Wedding ceremony was in the conservatory, pretty, intimate room suited the occasion very well. Wedding meal held in a beautiful room with stunning views. Food delicious. We loved it. Bryn Howel has many reception rooms and quirky spaces as well as the outside space for guests to gather and chat whilst waiting for the Bridal party. No shortage of space. What REALLY made our stay memorable were the staff. Never before have I encountered such hard working staff who seemed to be available 24hrs a day. No request was a problem, from providing fans for the rooms to cutting wedding cake. We highly commend them.
Had a great weekend in this very welcoming hotel. Its location is excellent for exploring the many sites of interest the area has to offer including trips on the steam railway and canal barges. The Hotel staff are extremely helpful and accommodating to individual requests. The food is faultless for both breakfast and evening meals. The rooms are spacious and very clean although a little tired, with lovely views over rolling countryside, mountains and the canal. Contained within well kept gardens. Lots of parking space and easy to find from the main road.
Cosy comfy in the countryside Hotel. Garden surround lovely on a cold and frosty morning. The room was a bit dated, but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Outside of the hotel is the canal path you can walk to Llangollen. Will definitely be going again in the new year.
Staff really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was quiet being just after the new year but was still very welcoming and homely. This was our second time here and we will definitely be back again. Special mention to Cameron and Chloe who looked after us so well, thanks to both of you.Rooms: 5/5
Many thanks to Lorraine and her staff for making our wedding day so special. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, no matter how late the hour. Rooms were warm and comfortable with stunning views. Peter and Rosemary
Restaurant experience. The food was very nice however the waiting staff are shocking. The restaurant was very quiet, but we weren't greeted. When we asked if something on the menu contained dairy, the waiter said he didn't know, then after a pause, asked if we wanted him to check - well durrrrrr, of course we do! We only had a main as there was we weren't asked if we wanted dessert. The plates were only cleared when we put on our coats despite sitting there for around 30mins. The views are good and the hotel clean, but the service was dire.
Had a great weekend at the Bryn Howell. The food, especially the potato chips was tops. The staff are welcoming and friendly. They were great host's to my guests and all had a great night at my wedding reception. Thank you.
Food wasn't much for the amount that was paid, as we paid per head. But it was nice. Plenty of tea and coffee. Main downside was the toilets. They were no better than my old schools toilets... which I left there 18 years ago. So in major need of renovation. They haven't changed in the last 5 years when we had the wake of my grans funeral.
Car parking, there is plenty of room.wheelchair access to reception and dining area is easy enough.staff are polite, professional and helpful.food is outstanding. My wife won a Valentine three course meal there including a harpist playing. The only words I can find to describe our evening there is Romantic and Cariad .
Me and my family were walking down the canal in llangollen and decided we wanted to go in the hotel for something to eat. Soon as we walked in the staff were welcoming and gave us two chugs of iced water. We ordered some food. There was a wide variety too suit all taste. I had the the buttermilk chicken with barbeque sauce it was worth its money. The sandwiches were double decker and splendid. And the service was great. I would definitely come again.
