What a wonderful sandwich place. I came across as I walked pass by. Gave it a try. One of those small gems. Fresh and tasty. I also liked their canoli. The people behind the counter are friendly too. Definetely recommend if you are around and get hungry.
Always walked past this spot on the way to the Maughan library. Decided to pop in today for a light lunch. Happy to say that I will be returning very soon! I ordered the no. 4, which was a pressed panini with mortadella, mozzarella, olives and rocket. The ingredients tasted fresh and complimented each other very well. It would've been made even better with a little salt and pepper. Staff were friendly too, greeting me as soon as I walked in. For £6.50, this is great value for money considering that it's located in Strand.
Maybe I went on a bad day…sandwich which was supposed to be toasted was entirely cold, and contained an extremely mean amount of filling see photo. Drink which was supposed to be cold was warm.
This place is a world class sandwich shop! I used to come daily when I was in London in 2022 and all I had to say was "I'll take the usual" which was a tuna sandwich epic by the way. When I left for 5-6 months and came back and returned to the shop they recognized me and remembered my order after all that time. Genuinely impressive. 11/10.
Nice friendly shop. Sandwiches are good, but could be better. Limited options. Their tuna mix with kidney beans was not to my liking.

Bacon and Sausage sandwich and a coffee for just over £6. Where else in London can you find any coffee for £1.80
Worst egg and bacon sandwich that I ever eat. Burned and full of charcoal. I only because I bought take away I didn't returned it.

I only wish I had discovered Brunel's sooner! Fresh, high-quality ingredients, delicious sandwiches, and kind staff members. By far the best value for money in the area. Do yourself a favor - skip Pret and enjoy a great lunch at Brunel's!
