Oh my goodness what a great find whilst out with my 2 year old today! The staff really couldn’t do enough for us, and even tailored a meal just for my little girl with all her favourite foods. Such a wonderful experience and we will definitely be returning!
We had a very nice lunch here. Food was tasty and the service was quick and friendly. We sat outside and the street was nice and quiet. They got our drink wrong but they apologized and we just had the one they brought out which turned out to be very nice.
Very busy on a Saturday lunchtime but after a short wait for a table we placed our order and food arrived promptly and was very nice. Sadly our drinks order wasn’t forthcoming, despite asking the waitress a few times, but arrived just as we finished our food.
Very lovely hidden gem of a cafe. Cakes were fresh and very tasty and the coffee very good. Staff very helpful and friendly service.

We stumbled across this little cafe while looking for somewhere to eat in the middle of York. We had a short wait outside but it was worth it. We were warmly welcomed and the service was excellent. The food was freshly prepared and delicious and the animal cruets made our lunch fun. If we could find Bruks again, we would return. Vegetarian options: Bruks caters for all dietary needs Kid-friendliness: Our grandson was made very welcome and he enjoyed looking at the animal cruets Parking: Being in the middle of York City, and down a narrow lane, there is no parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately with steps into the cafe, there is no wheelchair access
Fabulous friendly place. Food was fresh made for the order. Staff know their products. Very happy to help with menu queries & also happy to make slight changes to choices. We have been to this cafe every time we have come to York & have no worries about standards, prices, or staff attitude. My daughter recommended Bruks & I will always do the same. Well worth a visit. 5*
Forget the famous Betty’s Bruks is the place to come for a simple cuppa, mind you they do all sorts of teas, coffees and shakes. And a delicious range of cakes. 3 college lads were in for the very reasonable all day breakfast. Super friendly and helpful staff. Amazing little cafe!
