New system means very limited accessibility - it works OK but most cars empty their stuff in under 10min and then the place is empty until next slot. Not very efficient and you can see fly tipping on all the roads in the area. False economy for WLC to cut back on accessibility of recycling centres as they will now have to spend much more on dealing with fly tipping.
Booked a very rare Saturday slot for a car with trailer so i could get rid of a 3 and a 2 seater sofa. Got email confirmation and a reminder 2 days before. Turned up on the day with my 9x5 box trailer and was told i wasn't on the booking system even though i had confirmation. And that i wasn't allowed in with my trailer plus a comment saying it was too big. Well its the only way i can fit a 3 and 2 seater sofa in. I was told ill let u in this time. I dont see any reason why you shouldn't!. West lothian council if you have any problem with trailer sizes please state this on your booking system either that or your site assistant is talking rubbish. First assistant very pleasant. 2nd assistant very rude.
The team at this location are absolutely brilliant. They are helpful, friendly and professional. They helped my wife and I with bulky items and paid us a bit of attention during our visit. Well done guys you are a credit to your profession
Staff holler at you over the yard if you inadvertently put the wrong item in the wrong skip, everyone else using the facility looks at you, the humiliation I felt, I was so embarrassed. If you don't know you don't know, no need to shout at the top of your voice and embarrass people. The staff here need lessons in customer relations, that is when they have time during their busy shift, sitting at patio furniture watching and commenting on the public using the facility while drinking, must be nice to sit and watch the public struggle up these dangerous metal staircases, I had to help 2 people who where struggling, one was older and one had difficulties walking. The staff here and the set up at this site are not user friendly someone will be injured sooner rather than later using this facility, it is not user friendly at all. West Lothian Council please look at redesigning this site and retraining your staff on how to be more courteous, polite and less abrupt with the public.
Arrived at 1030 to find entrance barrier down and car queuing as a skip was being dropped off. The cardboard compactor was in operation so couldn't be used. Why couldn't both these have been done before it opened rather than just after it opened?
