A school short on both action and comedy, this turgid dirge recycles all the usual secondary school cliches (from Breakfast Club to Diary of a Wimpy Kid) with dreary results. Mr Reid is the rock-hard detective willing to bend rules and break heads in pursuit of justice; Mr Boal is the wannabe new recruit who's hot to become both a teacher and Reid's new brother-in-law. Educational! Together, they run around swapping wisecracks and bickering until finally a massive warehouse blows up and Mrs Nicol shows everyone how to shoot people in the chest properly. Displaying little of the flair that made Bathgate Academy an unexpected hit, teacher Mr Boyle plods through on autopilot, keeping the noisy bangs turned up loud enough to cover the sound of no one learning maths.
