Nice traditional pub serving a good selection of meals. service was slow, my food was just ok, my friends had steaks which were all over cooked.
We had a delicious lunch here today. The food was really tasty, and the service friendly and efficient. Very good value for money. A special mention to the waitress that served us. She was very helpful, and her patience with my sister who has learning disabilities was much appreciated. We will definitely be back!Service: 5/5
One of the best hidden gems I've ever been too, amazing staff in a cosy old style pub and restaurant. Fantastic food with huge portion sizes so always leave satisfied and full. Highly recommendRooms: 5/5
As a group of 4 we all enjoyed a lovely meal yesterday evening. Always a good sign when a place is full of happy diners. Two of us had the garlic chicken, one the lasagne , one gammon. Plates were plentiful, hot food was hot, salad was fresh and potato choices done to perfection. We had no room for dessert. Friendly, attentive staff. Definitely recommend.
Visited for evening meal on the suggestion of a local Barrow friend. Small from the outside, but tardis like inside. Lots of tables outside so probably great pub in summer. Food ok...standard pub fayre and plenty of it. We had pepper chicken fillet which was a breaded chicken I expected creamy peppercorn sauce I think?, cajun chicken which up in the lakes seems to be a creamy sauce dish and broccoli cheese bake. All good.
Nice and relaxing beer garden with bunch of cute birds. Friendly staff, they said food might take a while as it was busy but it arrived swiftly. Large portions at a very good value. The young guy serving us was extremely nice.
Lovely pub, food and service and it looks fabulous all lit up outside, we had a great meal in a warm inviting environment. I'll bet it's busy in the summer.Service: 5/5
Wasn't the best steak was thin asked for m rare it wasn't Diane sauce had quarter cut up mushrooms needs to be finer no shallots or brandy in the sauce scampi cooked in old oil and cheapService: 4/5
First time visit wasnt disappointed.. Food came very quickly after ordering I thought this may be one of those get them in and out as fast as possible places but it wasn't. Service and food was excellent and one of my group has to get a takeaway box as meal was so big. Edit 18/08/22: Great food and great service as usual
Horrendous, waited 7 mins to book as they left me on the line and forgot about me. Arrived took drinks order, 45 mins later still not arrived. Failed to tell us they were out off Sunday dinners so ordered something else. Others came in and served drinks before us, in the end we lost the will to live and went to the hungry horse, guaranteed food at decent prices.
