Took my two young children aged 6 & 4 to Temple bar food market today. Ask if Broughgammon stall could make a kids roll with 3 small sausages. So they made two rolls. Kids started to eat theirs. I went to pay and was shocked to be charged €8 each was expecting max €8 for the two roll. I could tell even the girl at the till was shocked at the price the manager decided to charge, as it wasn't an original option on the menu board! It was too late to cancel as the kids had started eating. Think it was a disgrace and a complete rip off. When you consider the other stalls sell at a reasonable price. Would warn off anyone buying from there. And to top it off the sausages weren't even of the quality or taste usually associated with food market stalls. But never again and would simply advice anyone else to go to a different stall if at this market.
Easily one of my favourite market stalls at Temple Bar. Charlie and his team are always in good spirits and slinging some of the best produce to eat there or take home and prepare yourself. They now offer coffee too! A definite stop if you’re in Dublin on a Saturday! Try the burger amazing value at 8€, grab a coffee and Google recipes for the ossobuco you just bought. There’s tables to sit at in the centre of the market too!
We had the pleasure of visiting Millie and Charlie and the whole family of kids!!! I brought a group of 70 university students for lunch and a tour. It was fantastic. It’s a small family run farm where we got to see about 100 goats from brand new, to nursery, pre-schoolers and even an old folk goat. The kids were lively and interactive wanting to nip your clothes and be petted. We got a great tour. We had a super lunch of rose veal burgers and the veggies had homemade nachos. Yum! The beautiful restored outhouse which is the kitchen allowed us to eat indoors as well as some seating outside. To top it all off their serving containers are all biodegradable so after we leave they composite all our waste. Educational, fun and tasty visit for groups & families.. Thanks a million for a great experience
What a fantastic find. Loved this small farm spot - we arrived when it opened but it was soon full. Had the burger, poached eggs and French toast. All excellent.
These guys are nailing it. Very clever to get the young billy goats who were not required for goats cheese. I tried the goat a couple of days earlier in Belfast and it was delicious and tender, quite unlike my experiences with goat in London at Caribbean restaurants where it can be very chewy. Their veg looked great too and was interesting to hear all about regenerative agriculture and how you can avoid using pesticides. The produce in the farm shop was varied and delicious. Am looking forward to their new website being up and running so can order from Britain. Everyone should visit this place, the food’s great and they are an example of doing farming the right way so good to support them!
Came for the homemade cake and goat bacon, stayed for the gorgeous café, new agroforestry and very cute kids. Next time I'm booking onto one of the artisan day courses ...
Went to the May Supper Club. First time and it was amazing!! Lovely atmosphere, relaxed and friendly. Food divine! Thank you so much.
Had a lovely lunch here then purchased some sausages, tomato sauce and chutney from the farmshop
Had an AMAZING lunch at Broughgammon farm cafe today... It’s such a hidden gem and it’s so worth driving down the narrow country lane to get to it. It’s a converted stone barn with a craft store and artisan food shop. Brilliant to bring the family or friends for a peaceful coffee, billy goat burger or home made brownie/kombucha. Everything is sourced locally and they handpicked the veggies we ate that Friday. All condiments are homemade and it was one of the best burgers I’ve eaten. Unreal set up and can’t wait to come back to this fantastic family farm. The family are so kind and have put so much thought into everything!
Fantastic place for fresh produce while experiencing the farm in it's beauty and creativity. If you want some tasty bits and fancy avoiding the crowds in a beautiful place, you know where to go!
