A great spot for watching the East Lancs trains, although good footwear recommended for the fairly steep climb.
Almost hidden walking trail running behind the old mill building now apartments. Can be difficult to find parking nearby, narrow roads with passing places. In the first open field can either head up to the left and joins another Irwell trail or can stay closer to the river but a bit narrow and uneven especially when wet.
Nice place to have a wander and capture some trains crossing Brooksbottom Viaduct on the East Lancashire Railway.
Good park and very interesting continental style shops! Worth the visit
