Just been for our anniversary lunch & it was fantastic. £28 for 3 drinks, 3 sides and 2 main meals off the 2 for £8.99 menu portion sizes are fab, food is lovely and the lad who was serving us was very polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend
We have been here tonight for my birthday and it couldn't have been anymore perfect. The food was absolutely beautiful and cooked to perfection, everyone out of 10 people enjoyed their meal and went home saying they would all definitely go back again. The meals all came out at the same time and the service was above and beyond. We gave them a cake to save for at the end of the meal and as we hadnt put candles in with it, they put their own candles on the cake and just made my birthday really special. I am so glad I went here and will definitely be going back again. Thankyou so very much for an amazing experience, you made my birthday extra special and absolutely perfect
We decided to try out this place on a Friday at half four. It wasn't very crowded and we got a seat right away. This place is likely to be good in a pinch and it's relatively cheap. The staff are also very polite. The food options are a bit limited compared to most and some dishes were not available on the day. The service took a long time between drinks and courses. Although, staff did apologize for the delay at the time. The first course was soup and it was served lukewarm. The bread was hard and we suspect it might have been left out a bit. They were happy to replace this for us. There was no soap in the bathroom to properly wash hands. However, most sanitiser stations were working around the restaurant. Overall there were some good points but I wouldn't recommend this place for a nice evening meal, but it might do in a pinch. I have heard good things about the breakfasts here after all.
Never had issues before but we went for Sunday lunch on 27.11.22 and the gravy was absolutely disgusting! It tasted burnt and almost ashy and completely ruined any food that was touching it. I then felt sick all evening as the taste would not leave my mouth. We overheard another lady also complaining so two of the chefs came out to test it. One agreed that it wasn’t right whilst the other said it was fine so they left it! Shocking.
We always have a get-together at this pub as we work locally on the railway, so it is central to get to. The staff are great and the food is not too expensive. So it's an ideal place to have a get-together.Food: 4/5
Nice all you can eat breakfast with bonus kids eat free if you got for the unlimited adult option. Just a note for those with kids the play area doesn't open till 12. Parking: Make sure you register your car
Nice choice of good quality breakfast and really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is open to everyone not just those staying at the hotel. Everything was warm and the place was spotlessly clean. Set me up for the early kick off game.Food: 5/5
Rang to book a table for a Sunday carvery for a table of 6, told straight away there was no availability without them even asking what time we wanted, was told they had a huge party to cater for that afternoon, didn’t think anything of it as was a more or less last minute decision to go, a family member just happened to tell me I should have booked a table online, so decided to take a chance, easily booked a table without any problems for an hour later, got there and the whole place was only 1/4 full, no big party as told, with being with grandchildren we spent quite some time in there while they played in the play area, at no time did any big parties come in or any tables have reserved put on them, can’t fault the carvery thought it was lovely and the chef who served us was very pleasant and couldn’t have helped more, just think they should watch who’s answering they’re phone over bookings as the young lad I spoke to obviously didn’t want to work any harder Kid-friendliness: Brilliant for children to play in an indoor play area as well as outside in good weather, staff lovely with the grandchildren too.
Fantastic quality and great value carvery. Highly recommended!
Food is OK, you get what you pay for. The soft play area looks like it hasn't had a good clean in a very long time, food and all sorts down the side of grubby pads. Bring hand sanatiser for your kids if you want to go in.
