Staff was very nice, but there was no way to launder clothes, difficult wifi, and there were flies in every room really lots of them, along with massive spiders
Went for afternoon tea on Mother’s Day. What a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were many varieties of tea to choose from and the sandwiches and cakes were great. The building was fantastic and after looking around the bedrooms , it was amazing. Thank you
Brocket Hall is a magnificent building. Attending as part of a conference I can recommend the location, the food, and the professionalism of the staff. I can imagine it would make a wonderful wedding venue
Thank you for truly amazing experience during Digitalis Christmas Due! We all felt like Kings and Queens here, at Brocket Hall The venue is absolutely stunning, the staff dedicated and fully focused on delivering the best ever experience, the rooms kept in immaculate condition... I hope to visit the venue again at some point!
Two fantastic courses at Brocket Hall the Melbourne and the Parmeston both first class. The venue is just as classy, one of my favourite locally. Golf facilities are superb.
Was fairly excited about a couple of rounds and an overnight stay here, and must admit overall I was slightly disappointed, mainly due to the service, or complete lack of it. That's not to criticise the staff that were on site, the few of them there were were excellent and did their best, however the lack of any decent level of service at a supposed quality location as this is stunning. We specifically requested access to the main bar which has a snooker table etc in the evening and they even agreed to keep it open for a few extra hours past it's 10pm standard close on request - what actually happened is they didn't even open it the entire day. Excuses about Covid etc, but no one reaching out and noting that we had made the specific request etc. Regards to the golf courses their 'better' course, the Palmerston, is pretty excellent, but was quite disappointed with their other Melbourne, a very average track with 3 good holes 4, 16, 18. No breakfast or even coffees available before 9pm, despite multiple tee times prior to this point - indeed they said the course was completely full - so they're happy to fill out the golf course but not support that with catering facilities. The rooms are pleasant, small hard beds though and quite antiquated - no real check in service etc, very much a DIY process. Overall for a trip for 12 of us we paid over £3,000 for we were left feeling very short changed - if you look at some of the other reviews they support the total lack of service. Would suggest things really need to change if they want to attract people in the future.
We've enjoyed both dining and walking here recently. The afternoon tea in the Ballroom was beautiful!
Our band, The Shuffles Band from Bristol, were lucky enough to play at the stunning Brocket Hall for a wedding. Amazing venue, friendly staff, no noise restrictions in the house or garden. We thoroughly recommend! x
Very interesting place. Brocket Hall is not a hotel. It's a 543-acre country estate and 2-course golf club. The hall itself is a Grade 2 listed country house built in 1746 and used exclusively for weddings, conferences and events. Also on the estate is an extremely good restaurant, The Auberge du Lac try their multi-course taster menu, it's brill!, and the former stables, Melbourne Lodge, where most of the estate's 46 rooms are. So, here's the thing... if you want stay on the Brocket Hall estate, go to your favourite online accommodation booking site and look for Melbourne Lodge. Apparently, since putting Melbourne Lodge online they've been getting lots of young couples staying for glamorous romantic short breaks. I'm not surprised.
What a beautiful place. The family had a wedding here. Even though it was a bit out of the way, they wanted the venue here for approximately 100 guests. The place is absolutely gorgeous. The food was good. Also a place for the kids to just “chill” away from the bigger group.
