Was told on the phone. "Call at 8 in the morning for a same day appointment so we can see you before Christmas", cool no worries it's a busy time. Tried to call a couple of days and couldn't get through. Tried again yesterday, would call for half an hour in a queue and would then be cut off for no reason. Would call again, same thing after half an hour I would be cut off. I give up. I've had this chesty cough for a whole month and it isn't improving and I can't even be seen by my own doctors. Thanks guys.
Avoid like the plague! Much better surgeries not far from here: Burford and Witney for example. Will literally let you die in the reception if you dont have an appointment. Will shame you for needing them in front of other patients - real life experience. Seperate incident from a few years ago, but honestly it has affected me so sorely I have only just wanted to do something about it. Was put on a new tablet for depression which made me gain weight- I was left feeling hungry all the time and really struggling to only eat what I needed to. Went back to ask what I can do - I am young and suffering with a mental illness. Older, female doctor looks me up and down, tells me it's not that bad and I should just eat less. Changed surgery not long after this horrendous experience. Family have also had horrifc service from reception staff etc. Other doctors are lovely, but good luck getting past the arrogant gate keepers in anything less than a month.
I’ve been with the surgery for many years and I don’t think it can get any worse than what it is now. Unable to get an appointment, not even routine. Keep being told to phone back at 8 am every day and when I do I can never get through as supposedly every other patient would have been told to do the same thing. Due to work commitments, not everyone has time to be sitting by the phone on hold for hours. This is actually a very serious issue as so many people will be suffering when they can’t be seen. I completely understand the current situation with the NHS and the huge backlog however there needs to be a system in place where people can book their appointments when and as necessary, not just hope for the best at 8 am every morning. Other local GP surgeries don’t seem nowhere near as bad and people can be seen within a reasonable timeframe or at least they are able to book.
Absolutely fabulous staff here. Called at 5.00pm as my partner urgently needed to speak with a doctor and get some antibiotics, the doctor called within 15 minutes he was absolutely amazing, sorted antibiotics too. The Lloyds pharmacy next to Costa closed at 5.30pm we had to rush back to the GP near their closing time. They kindly went to their own pharmacy on site and got them to sort the prescription straight away. You guys are all fabulous and real life hero's! If it wasn't for you my partner would most likely be in hospital today, So thankyou from the bottom of my heart You've always taken good care of my family, We highly recommend!
Had a lump. See the nurse. She felt the lump too. Said I'd be referred within 2 weeks. Waited 2 weeks, nothing. Called and told by receptionist it could take longer. Waited 2 more week's, called again, told could take 5 weeks. Called 5th week, told there's been a clerical error. Doctor called me, apologised and got me in within 3 days and a consultation 2 days later. Then called me apologised for the error. Luckily the lump wasn't found. But waiting 6 weeks to be seen, the outcome could have been terrible if it was something untoward. I have lost faith in this practice. The receptionist is the front line in communication. I seem to get a different receptionist with varying attitudes too. One kept sighing and was very unhelpful. The last receptionist was extremely helpful and spotted the error. The worry wasn't just for myself but my wife and close family. We had a few sleepless nights and nightmares.
Worst experience I've ever had with a doctor surgery on every occasion I've had to contact them. Fully aware doctors are pushed to the limit at the moment but that has to be the worst.
I had a lovely nurse for my smear test today, and would definitely not put off going ever again. She was very kind and gentle, and didn't rush me. I've spoken to multiple Dr's in my time here I don't have a particular one and they've always been nice and understanding. I must stress that I deal with depression and anxiety, and the doctor I spoke to about this was very understanding. It is a huge deal to reach out to the doctors, and I was so glad I did. Furthermore, I've gone through a pregnancy with the midwife team here, which was also a positive experience. The reason for 4 stars is because it can be a nightmare getting an appointment , and generally I can never get through at 8am and end up getting a phone call for another day, but that's fine for me tbh. If its super important they do try to squeeze you in for the same day emergency call. And this is better than my last doctors where I'd have to wait 3 weeks for an appointment
I have complained to the surgery about how stressful it is to make an appointment, and get past the unneccessarily-defensive Patient Coordinators - but my complaint was never even acknowledged. I was upset recently by the negative attitude of a GP towards my decision to breastfeed my babies beyond six months "oh, you're one of *those* mums are you?", and it wasn't the first time, so I sent a complaint. It's been weeks and I've had no acknowledgement. Today I had an upsetting call with the physio there, who was very unkind, impatient and unsympathetic when I was trying to manage the call, and my baby and toddler talking to me and someone coming to the door. I'm a stay at home mother with postnatal depression and I'm doing my best. I'd complain, but they don't seem to care what their patients want or think. Also concerned that they are misdiagnosing my baby's skin condition because they will only judge from photos. The male doctor laughed at me and treated me like i was a silly little woman who had 'got myself into a muddle' when I got back in touch to clarify their contradictory information. I wouldn't recommend this GP surgery.
Wife's mastitis not diagnosed because of the constant want to give telephone appointments to people who have dyslexia and cannot articulate properly. Reception staff better suited to border staff getting past these non medical professionals is like trying to enter Fort knox. Wife then developed an abscess and is told by out of hours 111 doctor to book and see a doctor or nurse. Guess what telephone appointment very wrong and now I've got to pay more national insurance to help give these people more money.
I had my implant removal witch was deep in my arm, and had a replacement put on my other arm. I had a lovely Nurse she was fantastic, very professional, pleasant to talk to , very gentle and very reassuring, wonderful bedside manner. I'm very grateful that I did not have to go to the hospital for this procedure, and it was all due to the patience and persistent of my Nurse . Thank you very much M Matthews
