Great weekend sailing with our instructor Vince. We learnt so much during this first wknd for our Competent Crew Course. Looking forward the next wknds!
5/5 would sail again. Gary and Jack were amazing instructors even if they couldn't sail very well. They were a great inspiration of BOSS. Great experience overall.
I spent 8 weeks in Hamble completing my Yachtmaster Coastal went through their RYA Fastrak from Comp Crew - YM. I began with a good amount of sailing experience but this program is definitely doable even with very little or no prior sailing experience. It was a fabulous program overall! Nikki was amazing at organizing all of the logistics, she was there supporting me from the very first email through to the final exam. The program was well-organized overall, with in-depth courses on theory, combined with practical experience at sea. I would recommend BOSS for anyone looking to complete their Yachtmaster in the Solent!
Great experience with BOSS, very efficient in booking a last minute training session and very professional throughout. Nikki's communication was brilliant, and Gary delivered an outstanding session on Sea Survival - thanks. Would highly recommend 5/5
Duke of Edinburgh Open Gold Sailing Expedition This was a very well organised expedition for my 16 year old daughter. Open gold means she can join a team outside of her school/ organisation so not limited to the traditional walking expedition offered by schools. Back to back means that practice training and assessed can all be completed in one 12 day block making it an extremely efficient use of time. And this avoids the three separate dates you need in the diary. Back to back also takes advantage of the retained learning and skills gained over the intensive period. This meant that by day 7 when the assessed expedition started confidence in ability was high. Around £ 130 per day fully inclusive is really not bad value and you can talk to Nikki about paying a deposit and balance instead of the upfront online option. The novice crew were sailing Southampton to isle Wight from day one making it a very memorable exciting experience. Assessed expedition took them along the coast to Lulwroth Cove and Durdle Door. France and Portland are also destination options but all weather dependant and based skills of crew. Recommended and an experience not to forget. To enhance the experience further a monthly payment plan would make it more accessible for all.
Dear Nikki Dear Peter I am back home in Munich. I would like to tell you that I felt very well looked after by you. From the first contact to the successful examination for RYA Yachtmaster Offshore. Unfortunately I had a bad experience before which was not caused by my other school i had booked with, but solely by the RYA examiner. Your work, the selection of the instructor Dave as well as the selection of the examiner who then unfortunately became ill and also the substitute examiner Cynthia has reconciled me, also with the RYA system. I very much enjoyed the week on your yacht with the crew of Marissa and William and of course I am happy to have passed the exam. But it also shows how important it is in a people business to be careful with whom you work and with whom it is better not to work. Thanks again to all of you! I will be sailing from Hamble in October and will look in on you then. Until then, best regards from Munich, Germany Julian
We had a great introduction to sailing on the Start Yachting course. Pete and his staff are super-friendly and Richie was a knowledgeable and inspiring instructor-looking forward to doing our Competent Crew with BOSS in Spring-thank you!
Many thanks for an excellent course over the 2 weekends. Organisation was excellent, and the 2 instructors Andy & George were brilliant. Highly recommend BOSS. Looking forward to getting back on board for YM.
Having signed up to a Flotilla holiday and not realising I needed to have my ICC Assesment to charter in Greece, BOSS Sailing pulled out all the stops to accomdodate me at very short notice. Massive thanks to Peter & Nikki who organised the course and the instructor Nick whose calm instruction got me through on a very very blustery day and was brilliant from start to finish. Cannot speak highly enough of the team at BOSS.
I have just completed 5 day Competent Crew certification and really loved it. First real sailing experience. All women crew with Cynthia Robinson as the skipper. Awesome and amazing experience. Huge thanks to the BOSS team who made this an unforgettable and memorable sailing trip.
