We came to see Franz Ferdinand at the Beacon and have a fantastic evening. The venue seems modern clean and well organised. The staff were friendly and helpful. Had to queue a bit for the cloakroom, but that’s to be expected. Overall, we had a great evening and Franz did not disappoint!
Super city centre music venue, with flexible ground floor seating, meaning that for the concert that I attended there was no seating, and instead a dance floor - appropriate to the act on stage.nnExcellent bar and pizzeria off the entrance lobby, there is also the more formal Colonnade restaurant.nnWay up in the Upper Circle the sound quality was excellent, as was the stage visibility.
Great intimate concert hall, we saw Of Monsters and Men here and they were fantastic. As for the location itself, they have free refillable water fountains, the cloakroom is very affordable at £2.50 per item, the standing section was comfortable, although the floors got sticky, probably due to spilt drinks, the staff were friendly, even the security guards. Two people fainted and the staff were quick to come to their aid. It was a bit strange enjoying music with staff attending a medical episode behind you, I felt like I was in the “This is fine” dog meme where the room is burning around it.nnThe exit was swift when leaving, although getting our coats back took a while as the queue went all the way down the stairs to the ground floor. Maybe another window for serving people would help, lots of staff trying to help behind the booth but it felt tight and congested so they couldn’t be as effective.
Friendly greeting and helpful, attentive staff, making themselves available at all times. Superb concert, New Year's Vienese Gala. A less formal classical concert. A very professional performance balanced with fun, audience engagement, informative and fun. A great start to 2026. Many thanks to Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the conductor and the soprano. It's January 3rd and this is already a memorable, fun highlight. Smiles all around the auditorium.
By far the best music venue I have ever been to!nClean, efficient, great seating, and directly opposite the car park. It was quick and easy to get in. Bar service was quite quick and there were plenty of bathrooms. It was a delight!
