I consider myself to be a law abiding citizen! However, one night in 1993, I attended a former school friends party in Henfield. I happen to be driving and had 2 or 3 other former school friends with me. Following the party it was suggested that we visit Brighton before we return home London. To cut a long story short, we was all arrested. The others for street robbery, and I for being a look out/ accessory to robbery. I deny involvement, and was acquitted in Lewes Crown court. I spent the night in the cell with my former friends shouting and denying there involvement saying say nothing etc. I was embarrassed but a solicitor firm lawyer represented us which the police called and we was released on bale. I don't recall being offered water or food whilst there and wasn't given a blanket either which the lawyer represented. It was the first time I had been arrested and didn't know what my rights was or know if I was allowed any rights! I thought I will tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth which I did my barrister and lawyer.
Belittling and condescending staff. Quick to close cases before I could provide more information. Dashcam footage of careless driving is considered "insufficient evidence". Threats of violence are not taken seriously. The good thing about the police being useless is you can get away with so much crime in Brighton. Justice system is a joke.
Disgusting department. Forget anything to do with the police. Pathetic and snail like in response. So embarresed to say I live in Brighton
Rude staff. I was looking for a specific department, and there was a reception like place + another long queue for general things. I asked the ?receptionist “if I am at the correct building “ She said “Can you queue please”. I was like “But maybe this is the wrong queue, I don’t know the exact department, where are the registrations?”. Based on experience, they made me wait at the wrong queue many times. Instead of simply saying “yes correct place, you can wait in the queue” she was so rude and told me off shouting “can you just wait in the queue”! I wonder if this is only against immigrants or a general issue but they should get a training about how to lead people. Shame you can’t do anything to these. I wish a senior or a manager reads this comment at a point.
I’m not one to leave a review for anything but the actions of a few of the officers tonight have inspired me to do so. My girlfriend suffers with severe anxiety and was stuck in the middle of a crowd on St. James’s street, she was having a panic attack and needed help, I couldn’t come to her rescue because I didn’t have a wrist band, one of the officers told me to show him a picture and assured me he would find her, I did not think for a second he would manage to find one person in a sea of thousands of party goers off the back of one picture but sure enough a couple minutes later he showed up holding my girlfriends hand and was escorting her to safety. A lot can be said about police as a whole but on this night the Brighton feds have really done there bit. Fair play lads and ladetts top specimens.
This is the most dysfunctional police force I have ever had the misfortune to be in contact with. One year's yesterday I was robbed by the brighton police who entered a flat unlawfully and stole everything I need to make my living. I have lost well over thirty thousand pounds as a result. They to this day have never looked at my complaint and even tried to dismiss the complaint. If you need the police don't call this lot.
They were very gentle when they handcuffed me and the police cars are incredibly roomy. Overall, very professional. Will get arrested by them again, for sure.
Personally I wasn’t a fan of the slab I slept on overnight and no room service either good if there’s no other places but wouldn’t recommend going here on a family outing, poor handling forcing me in a car to go there there wasn’t even any table service either Outcome: spent the night there hungry and confused
one star is far too much!!! I'm really really disappointed... 3 times need help from the people's which represents the law..then i learn something, never ever ask for help at the police station in Brighton!!!
This place is excellent and I thoroughly recommend that you visit if you are a police officer or if you wish to speak with a police officer if however you are a criminal such as a robber or few have dropped some dog droppings on the floor or you have spilt some milk then I suggest that you do not go to the police station because the police people will likely not be very friendly and they may ask you if you would like to spend a life sleepy times in the night Bedford they have and if you sleep in the police man's bed or the police ladies bed it is not really very nice because you get some nice food in the morning but then they take you to a big room and sometimes they make they tell your hands together which is not very convenient or very comfortable so if you are a robber or you are a criminal or you have speeded your car driving down the road or you have stolen a teddy bear then do not go to the police station but if somebody has stolen your teddy bear and you want to find it and get your teddy bear back then the police station is the best place for you to go at so I fully recommend that you go to the police station to find your lost teddy bears
