Relaxed small airport with long runway very close to the coast. Lovely Art Deco/Modern buildings and interiors. Great welcome at the Hummingbird Restaurant. Try their Danish Pastries, too, as you watch the light aircraft or use it as a base for a walk on the wild side along the tidal Adur river estuary.
Me and our french air club came here with 8 aircraft total. Good, but the restaurant is very old, but pretty good for the price. Avgas 100LL at 2.15£, prefer Goodwood if you want to refuel, 1.90£ at Goodwood.
Lovely place to have a meal ,snack and drink.nDisappointed that you now have to pay for parking. Atmosphere is lovely staff friendly.
What a fabulous day for the flight.  We arrived at the airport a bit early as it was such a nice day and there's a nice little food van next to the airport.  Bit cheaper and better views of the helipad.nWe had to wait 40 mins as the flight was delayed but this was fine, these things happen and it was a gorgeous day.  We were lucky enough to see 4 Navy Helicopters take off and fly away in formation on their way back to Yeovil.nnOur Helicopter pilot was Ian and he was so helpful and informative, making everyone at ease. He provided a running commentary of height and speed and why we were travelling the way we were which was very interesting.nnThis was the first day of flights from Shoreham and so it felt extra special.  We were taken along the coast on the bank holiday weekend so there was the Brighton Festival, packed beaches and then we went inland towards the Amex.nnA great stadium and even better from a helicopter that tilts into a give you a never to be forgotten view - we could even see our own seats!nnThen off back to the coast.  We happen to fly over our own house, quick bank to the right and got some once in a lifetime photo, neighbour's grass does need cutting though.nnAll in all a fabulous flight that was a wonderful present that will live in the memory for a long time.
We often have lunch at Shoreham Airport this is what I know it as! and always find a friendly welcome even if they are really busy. Food is top quality and not over expensive. It is really great watching planes coming and going. I would highly recommend tbe Hummingbird restaurant for any occasion. Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely surroundings!
