INTRODUCTION For those not aware, Brighthouse is a standard sub-prime lending, extortionate rate, few checks required lending establishment, focusing on both every day goods to over priced luxuries (not already including the extortionate rate, did I mention that?) CUSTOMER SERVICE Customer Service is not their strong point. I feel this is typically because their lending market predominately consists of high risk / non payers and so their overall attitude is defensive, dismissive and unprofessional PROCESS They are rather quick to take your details, without really explaining the whole procedure, this by personal experience left me having to have 2 credit checks against my account which was hugely detrimental to someone trying to rebuild their credit file. This on top of having to make 3 trips to the store, because of a miss-communication in the required documentation. However, they are still happy to take your details and sign you up even without the proper documentation, suspiciously. WEBSITE There website is not fully functional, and not greatly intuitive. Living in Milton Keynes, my suggested store was Aylesbury 45 miles away, ignoring the store 2 miles from my home which apparently doesn't exist on the site. The products on the site do not necessarily match those of which are in store, and the care/insurance plans do not feel transparent. OVERALL I accept the store for what it is, but we are no longer in recession, the sub-prime extortion is on the back burner in favor of more reasonable rates for those that really want to improve their credit. This company needs to step it up.
