Came for the steam punk festival which was well attended. Good size venue for an array of stalls. There was a nice space outside too where bands and morris dancers could perform. Friendly little cafe inside for a good cup of tea and also hot food.
Bridlington Spa is a great asset to Bridlington, hosting a wealth of music and theatre events. It’s in a prime spot in Bridlington with fantastic views out to sea from the cafe’s wall of windows. The cafe itself is always well used, both by people attending events and also locals and tourists alike. If you do have the opportunity to visit the Spa, lookout for the delicious ginormous scones and other sweet treats in the cafe. In the entrance you will find the Booking Office for events; opposite this is a very comprehensive Tourist Information with lovely, knowledgeable staff. Look out for the Bridlington puffins at the entrance.
Visited the Steampunk festival and was very well organised. This is a top notch theatre style venue for music, dance and other such events. Parking not that good, so use Bridlington park and ride where possible.
For such a beautiful building, this was the most disappointing venue I have ever visited. It shouldn’t be used as a live music venue in my opinion… There’s absolutely no ventilation or air, we had 3 or 4 people in the crowd pass out while the security seemed to rest on the edge of the stage until the artist we were meant to be watching perform had to ask them to hand water out to us! The staff are clearly aware it is too hot in the venue as they mentioned multiple times while we were waiting in the queue in the freezing-cold February weather that it’s “nice and warm” in the venue. Raye had to stop the show three times just to get the staff’s attention for the fans in the crowd who had fainted. The staff outside the venue were unorganised, people who had bags that needed to be checked passed through the security system for bag check with ease, and those without a bag obviously just passed straight through, but this just meant they were in front of those at bag check who were queuing longer than them. So really, if you have a bag, then you’re going to lose your place in the queue as there is no single file system or anyone stopping those without bags/missing the security check to let you in first. A good thing was that the cups of water were extremely full, and they had ice in. They just needed to hand more of these out at the back of the audience too! I understand this venue is old, but there is no excuse for not upgrading the room with air conditioning, fans, or any kind of ventilation. Even something for the act on stage, Raye mentioned even she was hot and couldn’t imagine how we felt. She still put on the most incredible show.
We came for a line dance event and the dance floor was the highlight of the weekend. It was exceptional. The architecture in the dance hall was stunning, 98% of the staff were friendly and helpful and the cheesecake in the cafe was "to die for." We would definitely choose to come here again.
A great place for a lunch. Excellent prices, very nice, helpful staff. Good, tasty food, too! We managed to get a table by the huge window which looks out directly on to the beach and the sea. Such a lovely view! We will definitely be back again!
Always a great venue, fantastic theatre and ballroom, and lovely little bar overlooking the sea
The views from the cafe of Bridlington beach are superb. The chocolate cake and coffee was well received, quite a good selection of snacks and drinks. Ladies very friendly and helpful on where we should visit in the area. The beach here is huge and they have little beach huts where people were staying for their hols, a seaside train was doing its rounds. A real seaside town vibe. We had actually booked a Cliff Richard tribute show here, with a 3 course meal, it was fantastic, considering it was during the lockdown period. The show was on at the weekend at The Spa and Theatre, which is a live music venue. The food and the whole evening was well worth it, great value. Thank you. x
We've used the cafe for coffee and for breakfast a few times now and enjoyed it forthe ambience and the views. They have daily special scones, we've had the lotus biscoff and the Chocolate Orange flavour ones both excellent. The cakes are very good too, I like their lemon drizzle. The bacon rolls are good downside is they don't have much for toddlers so he winds up with toast. Staff are helpful and friendly and the facilities are well kept.
Lovely cafe location, relaxing and lovely view onto the sea. The sandwiches could have a bit more taste in my opinion, they are rather dry, dressing/chutney of some sort is missing. Toilets also clean. We come every year to the spa cafe and I am sure we will come again.
