This square should be a model for other towns trying to create new spaces. The fantastic architecture from the brewery, large, amphitheatre-style square and great selection of restaurants makes for a really lovely location to walk through and visit.
Had a meal in Nandos. Not the place that would be my first choice. Was rather quiet for a Saturday night with mainly younger people there. Found ordering via the qr code rather unreliable and slow, but persisted and got it done. Staff we very polite and helpful. We found it cold in the area we sat and asked to be moved. This was done with mo fuss. Took a while for our food to arrive and something I ordered had to be changed as they were out of a certain ingredient. Good portions and not bad value. Loved the bottomless ice cream.nOn a different point. The 3 of us went to Zizzi first and along with at least 6 others who had not booked, were told no availability for 30 to 45 mins. Lots of empty tables. No wonder businesses are closing down if they turn customers away.
Very good. Right by the train station. Lots of places to eat and there was a Sunday market
The square is quite picturesque and very pleasant in a way. There are a fair number of good restaurants and eateries and a large public car park directly across the road makes parking easy currently £1.50 for 2 hours. However, in retail terms it's very disappointing. There are a few shops and a cinema but very, very little else of any real interest and, unless you're eating, your visit will be about 10 minutes at most.
It was ok. Several bar/resteraunts but not quite how it is promoted. But it was clean and tidy and easy to get around.
