I had a lovely visit to North’s with family visiting from Australia. Many people had recommended North’s to me and I finally visited. The hot chocolates, coffees and soft drinks were lovely and the staff were friendly. I felt that the seating was a bit limited but I loved the tables in the windows. I will try and sit there next time! The cafe was light and airy and in a great location in the town. I would like to return to try the food another time.
Great Deli just at the bottom of the main high street in Ashby. The staff are great, friendly and very considerate. They have a good range of food and drinks and there’s always a nice buzz about the place. One unique thing that many may not know is that you can buy whole cakes from them and they have a fantastic range. You’ll never buy a birthday cake from Sainsbury’s again. The square strawberry, cream sponge cake is one of the best cakes I’ve eaten and it’s very moreish. Ranging in price from around £11 up to £20, they are really great value for money as they taste amazing. This is their chocolate torte and the pics speak for themselves. The other photos show the list that is available, order in advance and they take about 4 days.
A great deli and tea room with the best coffee in town. Smart casual style with lovely menu and good service. Great corner location for sitting in the window to chat and watch the world go by. Also a nice range of chocolate and alcoholic drinks to purchase as gifts or a treat. Lovely quiches and cakes.
A nice upmarket deli and coffee shop with a wide range of nice cakes and savoury items to eat in, as well as all the usual deli staples you would expect. All the café items are reasonably priced and the coffee is very tasty too!Food: 5/5
Lovely deli and café located at busy junction in Ashby town centre. Great coffee and cakes, cheeses and deli goods. Can get v.busy. ** Renamed The Handmade Brownie Company and new owner former manager**
Bought a 70th birthday cake. Looked and tasted amazing. Great advice on which cake to go for by Leanne and service above and beyond. ThanksFood: 5/5
Really good deli and café with lovely staff. I reviewed with 5 stars a year or so ago but felt compelled to re-review I go regularly after reading a recent review posted a few weeks ago. Norths has a food hygiene rating of 5, this is posted online and on the door. I have also never heard of them selling pizza paninis or cheddar cheese and pepperoni. I think the place is a real asset to the town and it's important to support our local independent businesses. The food is excellent, the service is even better, and the deli options are delicious.
Lovely inviting deli and cafe. Leanne in particular was warm and welcoming, helping us put together a birthday hamper full of goodies today. I’m sure it will be well received. I’d love one myself! I must mention I do pop in for a soup to go for lunch on occasion which are really tasty and filling! Service and food lovely!
My partner and I used to go quite often to have a sandwich at lunch. It is quite pricey, particularly if you get a takeaway which is charged at the same price as if you ate it which would include salad and crisps or coleslaw takeaway is just the sandwich. I'm really sorry to say that, one month ago after attending during the lunch period on a Saturday for a cheese sandwich with coleslaw and salad, I ended up having the worst bout of food poisoning. As my partner and I had eaten at home other than this trip over a 48 hour period, and the food poisoning started about 8 hours after eating the lunch, we did deduct that it was caused by my lunch. The salad and coleslaw weren't the freshest that day and it has completely put me off. It's really disappointing as we had enjoyed some nice trips in the past but I don't feel comfortable returning.
Had a Grazing Box for my partners 50th Birthday..... it was amazing. Would recommend this for anyone that wants something a little bit special. Will definitely be having another one soon. Thanks guys!!!!!
