Too many issues, not sure where to begin. There are a few good doctors here and some awful. I've previously been given the wrong medication by a foreign lady and another doctor had to get involved and give me the correct one tall moroccan lady who works here is great!. When you call them, they take FOREVER to pick up even when you're caller number one. And when you do ask about something that the doctor mentioned to you and told you to do/re-book, apparently then it's not on the system?? Don't get me wrong, they're decent people but their service needs great improvement and they need more people in the reception! At this point I don't even know if they're jotting down key information of patients onto the system or not, they need to do better!
Every doctor that has treated me at this clinic has been utterly amazing - they are highly skilled, well trained and qualified, and they have each been compassionate professionals and wonderfully warm human beings. The medical staff at this clinic are beyond reproach. The reception staff, however, are... well, let's be charitable and say perhaps a little less well qualified, and apparently untrained? They are the chilly Yin to the doctor's warm Yang but, hey! isn't that the case everywhere? My solution has been to simply love bomb them into submission with a broad smile, effusive compliments and a steely resolve not to be intimidated by them one of them is genuinely terrifying! Sadly, nothing can be done about the building itself - which looks like a post-industrial nightmare from the imagination of a very depressed architect. The dismal exterior conceals and almost equally dismal interior. But the doc's are all fantastic!
I’ve lived in several boroughs over the 3 decades I’ve lived in London, and this is hands down the best GP surgery I’ve ever used. Both Dr Varma & Dr Marco who is now my GP are exceptional in their care. They have resolved problems I’ve had for years where other surgeries have dismissed my concerns. I have finally got treatment I needed for conditions barely recognised here, and this would never have happened if they hadn’t been proactively involved in helping me. They are both remarkable not only for their patience, care & empathy, but for going the extra mile with referrals I’ve needed. They’ve both changed my life for the better, and I only wish I’d known them 20 years ago. There’s some ridiculous comments here. If a medication isn’t on the NHS, you need to go private. Then you’ll get to see what the meds you boast you pay for REALLY cost. No, the receptionists don’t break into song on my arrival, but they’re polite, efficient, friendly and most importantly they are effective. Judging by some of the reviews and some of the patients I’ve seen, I’m amazed they manage to speak to some clients at all. Personally, I’m very grateful to all the staff at Brayford Square for their excellent care, from the Doctors, to Health Visitors, to the front of house. Thank you all for your hard work.
I went to the surgery yesterday 05/02/2020 as I had a difficulty breathing, to see if they could fit me in as an emergency.  The receptionist Rifa who I spoke to was very rude, aggressive and unprofessional. She told me that 'you can't just turn up to the surgery, you have to make appointments. There are no appointments left for the day' she could clearly see I had difficulty talking. She told me that I needed to go to an walk-in- centre. I registered with another surgery yesterday and was seen immediately and prescribed with relevant medication. I had been with this surgery 38 years! This is the way they are treating their patients. They all need customer service training and if things don't improve some staff just have to be gone!
I have used this surgery for 35 years and the reception staff have always been accommodating and sympathetic. I am usually given emergency appointment on the same day and a normal appointment within a suitable short time. Calling for repeat prescriptions or tests results is easy. Dr varma and other female doctors that I have seen have been very caring and nice. Dr Rebecca Write who was covering for dr varma was an especially nice doctor who had a really good memory of all of my family members and situations, she always asked after everyone and their situation. That was a nice touch. I don’t like the new telephone system. The reception staff make a point to know the clients and that’s also nice. The only negative point I have is that the chairs are broken in the waiting room, the reception glass is a bad DIY job and looks unprofessional and the toilets are not restocked well or refurbished well. Other than these aesthetic problems the service provided is great. Dr Marco can be rude and abrupt at times, maybe it depends on his mood.
So where do I start with this surgery, can you kindly provide adequate customer service skills training to your receptionists as well as Practise Manager. There is a clear lack of understanding when it comes to providing a good service to the service users. They were my wifes previous surgery however due to the lack of professionalism and the way their 'Practise Manager' handles concerns is ridiculous, the Manager scrutinises you when it comes to raising concerns with the level of service they provide. Happy to have moved my wife to a different surgery where the level of service is above and beyond when it comes to their patients.
The doctors are truly amazing but one of the receptionist is truly appalling. I moved about 6 months ago just slightly out of catchment area, told them in person and asked if I could stay registered with them. They said yes. A few months later I have an emergency appointment with one of the amazing GP, she tells me I will eventually have to register with another GP but if I'm not better by the following Monday she can see me again. I call first thing Monday morning only to be told by the receptionist that I had been removed from their list and they couldn't do anything for me. She wouldn't even let me have a phone call with the doctor. I had to call 111 who told me to go to A&E and I ended up spending the night in hospital waiting all because they couldn't wait just one more week before removing me from their lists.
Great surgery. Super helpful on reception. Managed to get last minute appointments on a number of occasions. Always friendly and happy to help. GPs know their stuff and will go the extra mile if they can. You're doing a great job, guys. Keep up the good work.
The receptionists are awful, they’re never nice and when you try to ask for appointment they always try to get rid of you saying “go to the pharmacy an get something from there”... it is a joke. The doctors are generally nice but it is extremely hard to make them take your issues seriously and get a referral or recipe...
Amazing Surgery!! I had an pleasant time registering with this surgery, all the staff at the surgery were friendly and welcoming. I got to see the doctor the same day as the registration which was brilliant. Receptionists were helpful and kind. I would recommend this surgery to everyone living in this area!! :
