On the advice of friends who said this was the best thing they did in London last year, my family of four kids aged 13 and 11 did the private family bike tour. Our friends were right. We had a great time! The bikes are comfortable, the ride safe and easy, the tour company very organized, and our guide Ollie was excellent. His energy and knowledge of London kept us and, on more than one occasion, some passersby including Londoners fully engaged for the full four hours. This is a great way to see London with or without kids. Would highly recommend.
My family and I were in London at the end of June. The bike ride in London was without a doubt the coolest thing we did on our whole trip. Our guide was fantastic and navigated us through safe cycle paths. We learned a lot about London. Would highly recommend this! We really got amazing memories.
We had an absolute awesome time on our bike tour with Pat! Being the first time visiting London I was able to get a true sense of the city with great explanations as we went. We road comfy easy to ride bikes through the history of London, stopping unique landmarks along the way. We were able to see how the city has changed over the years, mostly caused by fire. Along with a wonderful Hamlet performance by our own tour guide. We made a pitstop at a cool beer garden shopping area which was nice to see a spot we'd want to visit but maybe wouldn't of known about. Would do again for sure! I even came across a few Brits and was able to reference things I learned on the tour and they were impressed.
Amazing tour again, always a go to when family and friends visit London. Chris and his team are excellent tour guides, esp Pat, wouldn’t go to anyone else. Their knowledge of London is phenomenal and the care and concern for the group and capabilities is so lovely and helpful, especially with a needy youngster. The kids love the spray painting at the end too.
BrakeAway Bike Tours was excellent. This was my second time doing the Secret London, and I plan to do a third one, but will try the Grand London this time. It was well organised, meet up place was easy to find. The bikes are comfortable and easy to cycle with gears and a basket to put your belongs. Also every bike has a helmet, but you can bring your own. What made the tour very enjoyable was the enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable guide, allowing lots of interesting stops for history talks and photo opps. Highly recommended.
My tour with BrakeAway Bike tours was one of the highlights of my trip to London. Our tour guide was named Chris and he did an amazing job of showing us so many of the cities sights as well as keeping things fun and interesting at the same time. I've been on many bike tours in many cities and I can say this was one of the best I've ever done. I felt extremely safe the entire time and feel that the trip was great value for the price. You will learn a ton and laugh even more.
Brake Away Bike Tours did a fabulous job touring London. Paul was fun, informative, and a great singer. Touring London by bike was really a great way to see many things you wont see on the typical tour bus while making sure we did see the main attractions. Highly recommend this tour,. I've done many a bike tour in cities throughout the US and Europe. Our London tour with Patrick was outstanding! Patrick was as informative and entertaining as any guide we've ever had. He has a great and humorous way of presenting British history and culture. Can't go wrong with Brakeaway, and I highly recommend requesting Patrick!
We were incredibly fortunate to discover BrakeAway during our 4-day trip to London. We were searching for a tour that would give us a kickstart introduction to this beautiful city, and seeing London by bicycle turned out to be the perfect choice. Chris was outstanding—despite us running a bit late to the meeting point, he patiently guided us over the phone with impressive detail, ensuring we arrived on time without a single wrong turn. Our guide was both knowledgeable and humorous, making the tour not only informative but also enjoyable. Fanny exceeded our expectations by going above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. She also shared excellent local recommendations that kept us busy for the rest of our trip. I took a private bike tour with my husband and daughters 11 and 14 and it was by far the highlight of our trip to London this summer. Ollie was a great tour guide! I was nervous about biking in London during the busy summer and I honestly felt so safe on this ride. We were often on quiet streets, bike paths, and bike lanes. When we did have to ride with the traffic or cross intersections, we felt very safe following Ollie’s lead. Highly recommend!
