A busy and massive interchange in the heart of Bradford offering bus and train connections to destinations far and near.nnSome convenience stores inside too offering friendly servicennInformation centre and staff really friendlynnVery clean facility with good toilets, too.nnAll stands are equipped with real time information countdown screens and publicity for each operators services respectively.
Small train station with near by handy bus station and most amneties .Nothing outstanding but generally well maintained with the recent flower baskets ,the most beautiful ever seen.
Trains and buses together which should make getting about Bradford quite easy. It’s fairly close to the city centre which is all pedestrianised but I find it quite soulless.nEven though there are picnic benches on the approach and a display re City of Culture it’s not somewhere I would want to spend any time.nThe concourse is large with lots of information re the buses and trains on display; there’s also a Gregg’s which gets pretty busy.nOnce the many steps have been climbed and the railway platforms reached there’s a much more interesting vista with a serious amount of tubs and borders planted up in vivid hues.nTen months into the 2025 City of Culture and there was little information about events etc, no maps and no volunteers guiding visitors-Bradford has seriously missed a trick here, particularly as the Tourist Information has permanently closed and the ticket office for City of Culture doesn’t open until lunchtime.
Unfortunately, the interchange is still a bit of a dump. Well, the train section is. I haven't been in the bus part for a long time. I often look at old photos of the beautiful Victorian Exchange station. And wonder how on earth anyone could think this concrete open sewer could be better. Suppose it does the job, just about.
A very busy place, especially during peak hours. It's worth keeping an eye on the departure and arrival stands, as they change quite often, but the signs are clear and easy to follow.nnSecurity staff are visible throughout the station, which helps the place feel safe even though it's always packed with people rushing to catch their buses.
