I stopped for petrol here at 18:18, Sunday 7th July. Reluctantly filled up £30.41 unleaded on pump 12 the petrol is much more expensive than elsewhere in west Lothian but my car was on empty and I went in to buy a cold drink as I had been outside all day. I saw what looked like two drinks on offer for £2.50 so took them up to the counter, paid with Apple Pay didn’t take a receipt as I rarely ever do. I walked out and realised my total exceeded £30.41 + £2.50 I paid £34.31 rather than the £32.91 I expected. I went back inside to check the drink offer, and then went up to the till to explain ‘hey I think I’ve been overcharged’. The attitude of the girl my age or younger was abhorrent, and once realising it was my mistake but the signage was completely misleading, and her making excuses ‘I don’t make the signs’, arguing with me and brushing me off like I didn’t deserve the time of day, she shouted across the store at me in front of another customer now waiting at the till. It was her and another young guy. I wanted a refund so I asked if a manager was around and was told she was on holiday, I asked the guy who the girl had asked advice from and he just said ‘well I finish in 5 minutes’ and brushed me off. I asked if the girl could take the drinks back and issue a refund, she obliged, I tapped my card for the £3.90 and left. It has not appeared on my account. Not only was there appalling attitudes, playing this down as ‘it’s just juice’ when this is my hard earned money that I spend very frugally, but it has now encroached onto theft. £3.90 is not a lot to some but I’m on minimum wage I assume like these attendants just trying to make ends meet. Reading the other reviews, this business needs a serious makeover. I visited late at night many months ago and an older gentleman was lovely, such a shame no other staff like him seem to exist in this place.
I live in west Scotland and stopped here three weeks ago. I needed fuel but didn't feel too well as I am diabetic so I got some fuel and bought a drink, a couple of sandwiches then parked at the right side of the building in the large bay which holds about four to six vehicles. I had my food and drink and a small rest as I was travelling south and when I felt better I continued on my journey. I have just received a £100 fine. I stopped for 57 minutes, which of course will cost £60 if I pay it within 24 days. It says on the letter that signs are clearly displayed. I didn't see any signs, but then again, when you're stopping for fuel and something to eat you just don't think you're going to get a fine for buying fuel or food. The signage NEEDS TO BE be clearer. I'd also suggest removing the parking bays, but then again, this must be a good money-maker for the garage. Totally and utterly disgusted and will never, EVER stop at this garage again.
Fine petrol station, fair prices, clean-ish toilet, no payment at the pump
Absolutely shocked bye the treatment a got off of the manger of this very well knowing!!very busy! and very expensive petrol station!!! I am a diabetic and really on sugar! I.E energy juices, sweets! And so on…! Yesterday around lunch time I went to this petrol station and the shelf’s were empty and all the groceries were lying around the shop floor !safety hazard. I could see my monsters of witch is my prefers choice just behind the counter so I patiently waited my turn and asked!! what I thought was a kind old lady if I could have two because there on a special deal!!! And then I was treated like a third class citizen and very rudely and aggressively served bye apparently the manager!!!I find it hard to believe she would be the manger of anywhere!! With the attitude she has towards fellow member of the public and most of all customers! So a went back got a 2 pack red bull patiently waited again and when a got to the front it was the same approach from the manager I politely told her I thought she was very rude and she the refused to serve me a had to return to work with out any glue couse and spent last night in hospital!!!! I just want everyone to be aware!! Your manager and owners will be hearing from my lawyer that a was advised to go to from a doctor!
My 13 year old son went into buy some snacks around 11.45pm on Tuesday 26th April. He came back out and said the employee’s manner towards him didn’t seem right. My son was quite offended and upset. I have been in this petrol station many times having experienced a pleasant service. It a shame this one male employee didn’t see the importance of good manners towards customers especially children.
