I am one of their student for their Online Adult Courses Programme Leader under Adult Education where a £50 voucher is offered on completion of course.nYet the efficiency of delivering this voucher as promised to learners like me is extremely appaling. I should not be having to do repeated follow-ups on this simple matter and as such am greatly disappointed.nnIf we are to have deadlines for your courses, I do expect that you respect your committed deadlines to learners like us. I will not recommend.
My course Pre Access to Higher Education keeps getting cancelled.nnThe first time, only two students showed up, and the tutor Malin Johansson cancelled itnnThe second the course started, I had a different tutor called Tim Jones, and the student number was 5 people, and everything went smoothly for three weeks until Malin Johansson came back from her vacation and cancelled it due to low numbers despite she said she teach a class of five people in the pervious term.nnShe keeps changing the rules. I even wrote to Hillary Gallagher, and she did nothing about Malin Johansson, who just cancelled the course despite the fact that there was a decent amount of students this time.nnMy advice is not to study here otherwise, the tutors will cancel your course and make random rules up.
Did a part-time level 2 at Bournemouth college in hospitality and it wasn't as good as my level 1 somewhere else.nTheory and pastry Chefs friendly, organised and respectful all the time but I am not happy with my experience in the main kitchen. We were cooking most of the time without proper recipes or not having a clear idea of the final dish. On addition to this, being a good chef doesn't mean being a good tutor. In other words, in the main kitchen there were not clear instructions coming from the tutor and he looked impatient most of the time.nThat is why I wouldn't recommend taking a level 2 in hospitality part-time at Bournemouth college.
Don't go here, it's a complete mess. Because of greed orientated mangement, they pushed onto us another year of college for extra government money. We were lied to constantly about our situation, told that it is just the new national standard after pushback from the other apprentices, it weren't true and they ignored all of our complaints. And even despite the government giving more money, they still demanded a few thousand from our companies, because they went over their budget which should be their problem.nnI had one teacher who everytime he'd arrive and tell us to go on a tea break. It's nice a few times, but not all the time. Though, the teachers are mostly pretty good, but I've been here long enough to see just how bad an employee turnover there is here. Just before I left, nearly the whole IT department quit due to being underpaid and over worked. They clearly have some money as they're always bragging about some new flashy project. But it just doesn't look like they're focusing on the fundamentals.nnNothing in life is free, and I get it that education is a business. But they have no real competition, and they've been behaving like this for years. I've spoken to some of customers at work, and those that have been here say the exact same. One of them had no option but to get in touch with the Bournemouth Echo, as he couldn't get certified without the minimum amount of hours. His group was essentially ignored and forgotten. Nothing happened by going through the college's channels, only the bad press actually motivated them to do anything.nnIf you're a local doing day release, then go somewhere else. I heard Yeovil is quite good.
Not a bad college by any means, I've read the reviews and personally never had a problem with any of these issues.nI'd recommend :3
