Terrible parking charges. Total rip off. Still the same. No improvements. Just tough parking when they can easily allow drop off and pick up for 5 minutes. The minute you come near it, you are forced to pay for parking. Compared to Alicante airport, Bournemouth is a shed...
It's OK. That's all I can say when it comes to this airport. The best I can use to describe it is that it's like flying out of someone's back garden. Smallest airport ever, long queues, supposed renovation efforts restricting the entire building. Staff were overly nice, attempting to compensate for the cramped space in line by ferrying us forwards like everyone was a small child. Overall wouldn't fly again here until some improvements are made.
Love flying from Bournemouth. A nice simple process getting through passport control and security. Not the biggest airport but nice and relaxing, good duty free shopping, and bars offering food and drinks. WH Smith on site but expensive.
Small airport which has few flights out so no wait for security at all. Make sure you go to the coffee shop before security as this is at normal prices. It is crazy this airport does not have free drop off zones like the larger airports. £5 for 30 minutes. Staff were friendly. No public transport options available on weekends either. Would consider using again.
Although a small airport it was clean, well laid out and had all the facilities you would expect. The men’s toilets were clean, although 2 soap dispensers were empty. I count find anyone to inform them. There is a good bar which served food and coffee also. I had a very good English Breakfast which was obviously freshly cooked. I would like to see a couple of water dispensers for filling water bottles. You have to pay to drop off people, that’s a bit on the nose. Large car park
I’ve traveled with someone on the same plane, we supposed to wait for each other just outside of the plane. The staff told her she can not wait she needs to move on, after she explained she is waiting for me. But they let me wait until the last person left the plane without anyone telling me anything, I waisted 25 minutes wasted waiting in line to go through passports because of it. Thanks a lot Bournemouth airport !
Paid for parking .... but there wasn't any ?!? Told 'this happens often' and asked to exit and drive to the furthest part of another car park. >More space and better allocation needed. Unfortunately disabled assistance asked a wheelchair dependent to walk up a tripple ramp, causing pain and distress. >More training & empathy needed.
I had a mix up with my baggage my fault. Everyone I spoke to or met during the process approx 8 staff to recover my bag was so helpful. I was really amazed at how no-one fobbed me off or tried to avoid helping. Truly great ciustomer service.
First time I have flown out of Bournemouth Airport and I have to say it was so easy and quick.
Flew out of here on the 1st of September. All I can say was, it was chaos! There were 4 flights going out that morning, and the airport didn't cope. There was one man on passport control, and there were hundreds of people waiting to go through to security checks. Next to him was a fast-track person, so you could pay £15 per person to get through quicker, which is a total rip-off. In the end, the planes were waiting for the passengers, so they had to let them through quickly to get on the planes. After 1 1/2 hrs, we finally got through, and our plane was ready and waiting, so we couldn't even get a coffee in the cafe. I believe Jet 2 is starting next year, so this airport needs to get its act together, or its going to lose its local travellers for a more efficient airport
