Very welcoming and as I don't drink alcohol there was a variety of soft drinks
I have just discovered the monthly market in Bourne End and it was well worth a visit. When I visited in July there were 70 stalls inside and outside dogs are allowed - just not in the library area. There are toilets available and music was playing near the exit. Will be going again a next one is Saturday 10th August. There’s a car park adjacent with disabled parking but it fills up quick.
Singing group on a Thursday evening is great fun. There's a book exchange in the reception area. The bar is typical 1970 and a bit depressing.
This is a superb venue. There's always something going on, including coffee mornings, pop-up cinema evenings, am-dram shows, live bands, etc. The bar area is comfortable and spacious, with a good selection of beverages. All amenities are clean and tidy. During warmer weather, there are a few tables outside. A public car park is directly adjacent to the centre, which is situated in the centre of the village. The staff are helpful, and in the foyer area, pamphlets are available advertising events at the community centre and wider area. It is possible to hire rooms of various sizes, depending on personal requirements. Kitchens are also available.
Booked the hall for a charity BBQ. From enquiring through to the date of the event Paula the centre manager, was very helpful and quick to reply. The centre was clean, spacious and very well priced. Highly recommend.
