Absolutely amazing and an amazing variety of plants! Just a pity that I wasn't here in the growing season. Make sure to go into the museum while you are there. Great snack van at the entrance to the gardens near the museum
Highly recommend a free visit to the Botanic Gardens! The place is extremely well-kept and displays flora from all over the world, including tropical regions. Highlights include two conservatory buildings and a rose garden by the gazebos. It's worth combining your visit with the gorgeous architecture of the Queen's University next door.
What’s not to like about free to enjoy gardens? It’s a great option for a day out with the tropical gardens a particular highlight. The rose garden was much larger than we expected and had some stunning colours, even if we visited towards the end of the season. Although the gardens are open late, it’s worth getting there before 4pm if you want to look in the indoor areas at the tropical plants
This is a well maintained place. If you don’t drive or if you are not thinking of driving. One can take a bus to queens university campus and walk to this gardens.nThe flora and fauna collection here is exceptional. The rose garden here is amazing. I was talking with one old couple. The gentleman said that they were coming to the gardens from a very long time they couldn’t miss it and they look forward for the garden visit every weekend.nThis has something special to offer everyone.
We walked through the Botanical Gardens which are located adjacent to the university. As like everything else in Ireland, the whole grounds were bright green and full of different plant species and lots and lots of flowers. I particularly liked their greenhouse. The beautiful white medal perfectly balanced the contrast between nature and industrial features while complementing the space and giving these particular plants a specific place to grow, such as succulents. The rose gardens reminded me of something from Alice in Wind with how the grass paths were weaved between the rose bushes and some of the flowers looked fake because they were so healthy and vibrant.nnThere are two newer greenhouses that were built specifically for tropical plants. Inside of each of these greenhouses, the temperature and humidity was set to stay at the perfect settings for these tropical plants to thrive. They were multiple stories so that the trees could grow tall and the vines could grow long and even go all the way up to the rafters.nnA great place to see and spend time on a sunny or partly cloudy day!!
