Beautiful gardens, lots of seating and beautiful scenery and flowers. The cafe was wonderful and staff were friendly. Do wish there was a bit more sign posting around to point us in the right direction as well as more visible signs in the gardens and especially in the woods
Very nice gardens.. Lots of flowers and different varieties of rododendras. Garden of Allah was the center of attraction. Lots of rise plants yet to bloom so to see rose bloom it's good to go in mid May. Will definitely recommend to fabulous n friends. Reasonable prices too..
Lovely small garden to visit. The grounds are well maintained, loads of flowering plants to admire. Entrance is £10, which felt a little bit steep for what you get to see.
Lots of small secluded separate areas to explore the extensive range of plants curated here, or various open trails around the lakes, walks in the woodlands, along with a small cafe, shop for gifts and a small collection of plants to take home, make sure to enjoy the fountain in the Italian formal pond
Such a peaceful And beautiful place to walk around, enjoyed meeting up with a friend for coffee, the cafe has a great offering, and the are loads of beautiful seating options outdoors! The gardens had lots of beautiful nooks and crannies to look around! And I was impressed that the trees had labels letting you know what they were! So often your left wondering! The shop has a great selection of local produce, including some local gins and vodkas. Overall a great expericance and can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful flowers, clean grounds and a fantastically spent day enjoying the sun. Recommend bringing your own lunch as the cafe can be very busy at times.
We went to Borde Hill for the first time as a family of four with two children 4 and 2. It was a good day out and we found enough to fill an entire afternoon. There are two cafes, one small which serves sandwiches etc and good coffee, the other Alvira is more akin to a restaurant but will almost certainly require pre booking. There is plenty of garden to see probably 6 acres or so at a guess and an adventure playground suitable for kids of all ages. Kids under 3 go free. I’d go again but at £29 for our family, I might consider a season ticket if I lived closer. Comparable to Leonardslee, massively smaller gardens but with the benefit of the playground.
Visited today and had a lovely time walking around. Loads of benches in secluded spots so nice to lose yourself and chill, jice little eating place for cakes, coffees teas pastes.sausage rolls and sandwiches..very friendly staff and voluntees.gardens maintained to a high standard with many interesting species.obviously the best time to go will be autumn for all the autumn colours and spring for the bulbs,Magnolias,Camellias and Rhododendrons.will deff visit again at above times
Lovely gardens, the different garden rooms are interesting and beautiful. The Italian garden was one of my favourites as we had just missed the roses. Some beautiful sculptures too. It's great that it's dog friendly must be well behaved, kept on a lead and cleared up after - which is all fair enough. It seemed like a well balanced place with enough horticultural interest from the planting and tree specimens for visiting gardener's to look at, but also a very beautiful space for families, very child friendly and some wonderful spaces for children to explore. Also a woodland walk, that was advertised to parents coming in, which from the looks of it children absolutely loved. Most the paths are wheelchair or child's buggy accessible too and there's no particularly difficult terrain either.
Live within 30 mins drive and never been here ! Noticed this is on Tesco rewards app so visited yesterday , what a lovely place, loads of benches to sit on, lovely gardens , very peaceful and relaxing , lots of picnic benches, although some parts of the garden are in urgent need of maintenance the greenhouses in particular and few parts of the garden very overgrown and require work the wheelchair access path to the Italian garden is covered in moss and on a small gradient so will be slippery in the rain - lots of sculptures to see when we went not permanent though they are obviously suffering with the drought here but still plenty of colourful plants to see, we got there around 12 and spent all afternoon there without going around the woodland or parkland , we will definitely be back and staff very friendly and welcoming
