Open and public market each Sunday , you can find variety of stuff used or new,nPrices are very cheap.nBest recommended is the man in the truck for tissue papers .nThere are parking for £1 only available.
Well organised & plenty of space but 2 huge vans belonging to a bunch of possibly Polish fellas emptied about 6 tons of stuff over a much bigger space than most pitches, putting lines of bags & boxes out, spilling onto other sellers pitches which understandably caused a bit of a kick-off with the fella selling hi-vis. They were selling stuff like broken lamps for £10 & a pedestal fan with no legs which obviously nobody was buying and they wouldn't barter on prices. At 10:45 they shouted that everything was £1 so the nearby sellers had hardly any sales while their 6 tons was scattered even further out as people rummaged for anything worth buying. A total mess with crap spilling out everywhere! The organisers said they've told them repeatedly to not do it but they're obviously not listening! Some good bargains on other stalls selling fruit/bedding but a shame for the genuine independent car booters.
We got a great haul from our first visit to the Bootle Car Boot sale, which takes place every other Sunday from 6am to 12pm. Even though, it was freezing, there were some great nick nacks. We managed to get a great selection of books, and a lovely small vase.
Only got in to selling at car boots this year. Bootle is well organised & pitch space is excellent. Well worth getting up early for & there's a great camaraderie with the other sellers. Buyer demographic is mixed with some people wanting to pay next to nothing for good quality goods, but I've made some good sales with decent buyers. Go prepared with plenty of change, a few carrier bags, plastic sheeting for the odd shower wear a smile & be polite & helpful to everyone.
There have many cheap items, but opening only on Sundays is really disappointing. I hope it can open on both weekend days
