Called in at lunchtime opening, and was warned they couldn't accept me with the dog, which wasn't a surprise as this is primarily a restaurant rather than a pub. It was raining fairly hard, so a little disappointed by the speed of this decision. There are a number of garden tables with some degree of shelter, so in reality not much of a problem for me or the dog. The menu is extensive, but not quite as ambitious as it used to be. Which is a good thing, the choice used to overwhelming. The meal was substantial, and well presented, and the owner and her staff couldn't have been more attentive. I'm glad to report that the place was very busy, as it deserves to be. Good food at a reasonable price, good customer service, and not prompted to vacate the table immediately the bill had been settled. The photo shows my steak and ale pie with vegetables, a generous portion! Thank you ladies.
Really disappointing, we were shown to a table by one waiter and then left for 20mins. Finally another waiter took our order. It took over an hour for our main to turn up, seems to be a different type of service compared to what the locals get. You expect it to take time if the food is cooked fresh but I had the scampi that was over cooked and dry, to charge £13 for scampi that is dark brown and dry that also didn’t turn up with tartare sauce as advertised. Really poor and not recommended. We won’t be going back. Two hours we spent there and that was waiting around for some form of service. I told the waiter I was disappointed and why but it was ignored. The boot inn is Not worth a visit.
Haven’t been to the boot for many years so treated ourselves for our 25th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed, food was Exceptional and the staff were great thank you for a great evening
Had dinner here recently. Ridiculous selection of food - printed on a double-sided A3 menu! Everything from carbonara to noodles to Mexican... A bit like a mash-up of all local takeaways. Nothing Michelin star or particularly fancy but all good, well-portioned and priced. I ordered fish from the specials board, which came with a very tasty cream sauce, whilst my partner ordered barbecue chicken with delicious fluffy chunky chips. Desserts were decadent! He had banana split whilst I had a pecan sticky toffee pudding. Great local pub - pleasantly surprising!
Great food and huge portions in this lovely and popular village pub.
Brilliant food, nice atmosphere & well looked after on our Anniversary - Thank You
If I could give The Boot Inn 10 out of 5 I would. Today we visited for the second time and the staff were just as lovely and the food just as incredible with plenty of options for everyone. Everyone there is so friendly and they all go over and above to make your visit as brilliant as they can. I couldn’t recommend it more.
As always, very friendly staff. Amazing food quality. We have 2 roasts, wine, desserts for around £40 so it doesnt break the bank for a very luxury experience
Overall nice food but expensive and not great service. A plentiful and varied menu, with the exception of dessert only 4 options. Food was generally good although a few quibbles one dish over-salted / -MSG'd, another tasting slightly burnt; highly recommend the prawn & chorizo starter. Food portions are good but you pay a lot for it; given the cost, I'd rather smaller, cheaper meals. Service wasn't great. WIFI didn't reach out table.
Traditional style pub located in a lovely village. Have to cross over a stream to get to car park. Very quaint. Menu is not massive, a broad range of different foods, bit pricey but when you see the portion sizes you understand why. We had a table of six without booking as it was a spare of the moment thing. I had the bacon and cheese southern fried chicken burger which was amazing. Normally I have a burger when eating out but glad I made the switch to try something new. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Polite and we'll presented. We will be going back and would recommend.
