I used to work nearby to Bona Foodie, and the display of food they have in the window just looks so tempting, you end up going inside to buy some... However, the lady that works in there I think she may be the owner is unfortunately one of the most miserable looking, and 'unhappy to help' type people I have ever come across. Certainly in my experience of going there, I have found myself wondering if she actually does want any custom? The food is tasty, if overpriced and tiny potions but unfortunately the service leaves a bad taste in my mouth
The food is very nice, but on 3 separate occasions, there is this middle aged , very thin, leathery brown woman who is soooo rude it's embarrassing both my husband and I noticed her sharp manner! Will not be going back here because of her, if she is the owner, I would suggest going on a course for people skills, if she works for you, I let her go. But the food is nice ! Thank you
An awesome window display is a good omen of the delights inside. Such as lasagne with 3 salads. I feel really fresh now. A bit pricey but high quality food with good service. Food you can scoff without feeling guilty.
The food is absolutely amazing! And looks so yummy! Pricing is not bad at all, as food is good quality! Nice cheap coffee as well, nice service : Is cheaper if you do a take away, but you can sit down.
Went in here this morning for a bacon baguette. Well what can I say other than it was absolutely disgusting!!! The 'bacon' wasn't even streaky it was tissue paper thin slices of fat that they actually just warmed up in a microwave!?!?? Real poor effort indeed. We only both ate it because we were hung over and hate wasting food. Many more cafes on St James Street serving much, much better foodie!!
Bona Foodie was the best place to have lunch or take some food to the office. So many fantastic things!! Salmon Quiche was particularly nice; also, there was a superb beet root & sweet potato salad with horseradish, sometime still slightly warm . . . delicious - I highly recommend the place ... Yatri
Worst cake I've ever had in a cafe! Was supposed to be a carrot cake, but it was like a cold, 3 day old suet pudding. Yuk! Neither my friend nor I could manage more than a few mouthfuls, and we are greedy buggers!
Really good inexpensive breakfast willing to swop items for set breakfast - unlike one further up St James St Very friendly and enjoyable experience.
Tasty food and very friendly. Loved it. Will repeat. The owner is a Spanish woman from Galicia. Viva España ;
Avoid this place. You will be disappointed. Poor food, poor service, small portions, and mucho expensive. Sharpen up your act Bona Foodie!
