The service was friendly and the food was lovely. There was confusion over the order. My youngest wanted chicken tikka masala from the adults menu, I asked if we could have a child's portion with a child's naan which i had thought had been agreed. He ended up with an adults portion which we were charged full price for. Would be nice to have the option of choosing a child's portion of something on the adults menu. Otherwise everything was nice and would go back.
This is our favourite Indian restaurant although last night wasn't the best meal I've had from here. The rice was quite sticky and clumpy, naan bread was warm. Our mains were ok but not the usual standard and certainly not a hot as they should have been perhaps a new chef? We had our starters then quite a gap before our mains came out but it just seemed like they had forgot as the girl had came over and asked if we were ready for our mains whereas normally you finish your starting and the table starts to be prepared for the main course but this didn't happen last night. We were the 1st people in last night and it did start getting busier when we were there but not enough to justify the above. Anyway perhaps a off night. The food was nice enough just not upto the usual standard we have experienced from here but all said we will definitely be back. The staff are so warm and friendly. Adding to this the 5 course week menu is excellent value for money with a free bottle of wine or a beer each at £15 a head it's a non brainer too.
Authentic Indian restaurant in Dalkeith. Food is freshly delicious with fairly reasonable price. Recommended
An enjoyable experience with very friendly staff. We enjoyed our meal but I really have to mark down on the cost... The Curry's were fine but... £2.95 for 1 chapati... £4.50 for boiled rice... £4.50 for a can of ginger beer. Our meal for two shared starter, main meal, 2 drinks came to £65. I'm totally happy to pay for quality but at these prices it'll be hard to return too often, even though we'd really like to.
I ordered a takeaway delivery from here & im really not happy with the service from their supposed award winning restaurant, As I type this my wife is in the toilet vomiting, As a vegetarian she ordered a vegetable Rogan Josh & after having a few mouthfuls she found a lump of chicken picture attached to top if off my lamb was undercooked, The delivery missed a pilau rise & it was an hour later than it was supposed to be delivered, I will never order from this place again & I will be contacting environmental health as there is no way a professional chef should be able to add chicken to a vegetable dish by mistake, I called & asked to speak to a manager but there was none about & i was assured a manager would call me back, I wont hold my breath
Went for Christmas Dinner. Food very nice and service slower than I expected. It was unfortunate that I went Christmas Day and happened to be working that night. I feel I could be being harsh on the waiters but when you've asked for a cup of tea and the rest of table apart from the cola are on 2nd or 3rd alcoholic drink I was getting annoyed and then 2 teas are brought at same time. Staff were really friendly and I'd have loved to have been drinking there. What i will say is entertainment was decent, staff friendly and food lovely. I know I've given a 2 star service review but also appreciate the date I was there and fact restaurant's don't ask if you're working that night when you arrive. I'd certainly return as food and friendliness great.
We always book here when our group meet up. It's always a Saturday night, the place is always packed and it pretty much always takes a long time between ordering to getting served our courses. To be fair, the staff are great, never any issues, nothing is too much trouble and a constant flow of Cibra on draught keeps us going. Like I said it is always very busy, there's usually about 8 - 10 of us at our table, the atmosphere is always good and the food is always absolutely incredible Well worth waiting for. That's why we keep coming back. We've occasionally nipped in on a week night with just a few of us and it's much quicker service because it's much quieter. Take away also recommended
We ate here last night. Overall food was good. Although the haggis pakora were soggy. I was expecting a crispy coating but it was wet. Everyone seemed to enjoy their mains. Portion sizes were great. My coconut reshmi was nice but wasn’t particularly special. The service was good and we didn’t have to wait long between courses. We received a couple of complementaries starter and dessert which was very kind.
Amazing food, great staff, service fantastic, yes you may have to wait a little on food , but it's fresh made , every time !!! Food: 5/5
Phoned our order at 6.30pm, was told it would be up to 2 hours for delivery. It arrived at 9.35pm. Who wants to eat at that time of night? Over 3 hours we waited. This hasn’t been the first time this has happened. When phoning to chase up our order, they just don’t seem to care. The only thing that makes us go back is that the food is lovely, when you do eventually get it delivered. Time to look for another restaurant
